As for us...we are talking about taking DD to a wild life refuge where you drive through and can feed some of the animals from your car. Then we're just going to get the local family together at a kid friendly, fun restaurant.
As far as gifts go, I'm at a loss. Since I'm on disability and DH had to take some time off without pay for the new baby, money's tight but I sure want to get something! Any suggestions?

My mom, sis and her boys are coming to visit this weekend. We are going to have a family dinner with mil and sil also at a restaurant. We are taking him to a children's musuem with his cousins this weekend. Next weekend H and I will take him to the zoo and to build a bear. His birthday is next Wednesday. As for presents, I found a tool bench, tool box and some tools at a thrift store that will be his present from us. he is also getting a road rug to drive his cars on. My mom and sis are getting him a train set.

Party at a local park, just family. I haven't picked out gifts yet, but I need to get on that. We will get a family membership to the childrens museum in our area for her, since she likes going and will probably go a bunch this winter.

Joint family party with her cousin-just cake and ice cream. Super small and simple. This will be a couple weeks before her actual birthday.
On her birthday DH and I will be taking her to the zoo for a fun family day. Maybe a picnic or fun restaurant also.
We're getting her a play kitchen. Other gifts she's getting from family include a tricycle, play food/pans/apron, Little People princesses to go with her musical castle, art supplies, fall clothes, and a bean bag chair

Hot dogs and picnic food for lunch with her requested dessert--- purple frosted cake with balloons, a giraffe and Elmo... And "Hi peams" aka ice cream. Only having grandparents and her uncles this year and maybe the babysitter so far I bought her a tee ball kit... I was going to buy her a bean bag chair since we stole the glider to put back in the nursery but now DH wants something we can sit on too so idk
Mine duo turn two this coming Saturday. We're just chilling at home - my parents, in-laws, and a couple of friends are supposed to be coming over. We'll BBQ, have the kiddie pools out, weather permitting.
We took DD through the toy isle at Walmart tonight to see if she was drawn to anything in particular. She hugged and kissed literally every toy we showed her with a huge grin. I'm convinced she'll be grateful for any gifts lol. Sweet girl!

Sounds like my girls! Went to the Disney store yesterday with them to get a replacement toy for one that broke. Wound up buying them stuffed animals too because they were hugging them so tightly. My Ashley is drawn to any baby dolls she sees and my Kayla loves every stuffed animal, so it's pointless to show them things like "do you like this?" Because the answer is almost invariably "yes!"
We are doing a family (and a couple close friends who are like family) party at home. It will be Frozen themed, so my DD can wear the Elsa dress her dad bought her when she was 9m old and it was a 2T ::shakes head::, plus she loves Frozen. We haven't talked about a gift yet. I know we are doing a swing set for Christmas, so probably nothing super big for her birthday.

We are having a puppy themed party for her... she's obsessed with "doggies" and puppies, so we are going to incorporate them a bit into the decor and make dog biscuit shaped cookies and such. Haha.
We'll be at home with just a few friends with kids and her cousins, and I'm putting an end time this year as last year people stayed ALL DAY and it was exhausting.
On her actual birthday, DH is working out of town but I think that I'll take her to some sort of play place for the day and we'll have ice cream.
sugarkissed, Our DD is obsessed w/ "puppies" as well! She has a favorite stuffed puppy she goes everywhere with! Of course we don't have to heart to tell her it is actually a fox, so we call it "fox puppy".
We are having an Abby Cadabby/Elmo themed birthday party for family and a few friend on her actual bday (and the end of the month) I've spent so much time planning the party that I haven't thought about gifts.nmauve some items to go along with her American Girl Itty Bitty baby doll
I believe we're going to get her a tricycle and this stuffed dog pillow/chair at walmart that she saw (another dog lover here!) And maybe a few random little things. We're hoping to move soon so I don't want to get too much. We're planning to do a BBQ cookout down at DH's family's camp just like we did last year but way more low key. Last year I was so stressed out trying to have the decorations, food, and everything all perfect. It will be farm animal themed (but really just some plates, napkins, and a couple balloons for decorations).
We are doing a party at an indoor play space in the area. I would absolutely love to do a house party but since we're in the city we don't have space. I tried my hardest to just have a very small party because we don't have space for her to get presents, but then we we decided we had to have it at a place it was silly not to invite other kids since they are the ones who will enjoy it so the party got a little bigger. Oh well, they decorate and do most of the work for you so that's a bonus.
Presents - we got her an Ipad mini (flame worthy I know). We're sick of sharing our Ipad and we're out of space for any new apps since we have a bazillion pics on it so it's just easier for her to have her own. Then I won't find her placing orders on soap.com while I make dinner. She's getting a doll from my parents (among other things I'm sure) and a kitchen from my IL's because they begged to let her have it so we picked the smallest one we could find and said fine she can have this.
