So within the past month or so my lady parts have become swollen and painful, like there's so much pressure down there it hurts to sit to pee (doesn't hurt to actually pee just to sit on the toliet). I asked the Dr yesterday at my appointment and she said it's normal and all part of a second pregnancy. well today I'm wiping and notice how swollen everything is, so I bend myself uncomfortably in half and confirmed everything is swollen, but also a dark red almost purple color. Is this really normal? What can I do to relieve this uncomfortable situation? Help please!

How far along are you? I had this really bad with the boys. Unfortunately, nothing really took it away. Wear a belly support band and resting with my feet up helped some. I really had to ease up on how much I was doing to keep it tolerable.

Yup, that was me with Liam. I pretty much always sat with a bag of frozen peas between my legs. It was horrible. And then when you go pee, it's this weird hot sensation because everything is frozen and the pee is warm.

That's about when it started for me too. Sorry... it really is horrible. Def try ice like others recommended. I was pregnant in middle of winter so I didnt really think of ice.
I say talk to laurski81. I know she had some problems with swelling as well as varicose veins down there.
laurski81 you are the official expert of swollen ladybits!
Bahahahaha what a thing to be an expert in! My ladybits were so swollen I could see the swelling just by looking down. It started at 24 weeks or so, so I was still able to look down and see the goods at that point. No joke by the end it was like something out of national geographic. I couldn't stand for more than 5 minutes at at time and I had to wear compression shorts and a maternity belt. And yes TP got stuck in there all the time. I always had to double check for this. And the varicose veins down there were horrendous. Ice, staying off your feet as much as you can and the compression shorts/belt did help. Good news is right after delivery it all went away
mrsdonati, oh no! I am sorry you are experiencing this. I have major pressure, but not a ton of swelling. (I hope I didn't just jinx myself!) My OB said the same thing about second pregnancies being a lot harder on your lady parts with regards to pressure and swelling.
