How old is your LO? She'll be 7 months on Friday

Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? Nursing and pumping while I'm at work

Solids? Yup! We started with BLW but she seriously had no idea what to do with the food once it was in her mouth, so I mashed a few different types of fruits/veggies up (much chunkier than a puree) and put them in a silicone feeder for her to try. She LOVES it! Now that she's gotten the hang of it, I'm moving back to BLW. So far, she's had sweet potatoes, carrots (not a big fan), peaches, apples, pears and bananas. Going to try peas in a couple of days.

Questions/AW? None at the moment

What're your coping mechanisms for these strong distracted babies? Quiet room, holding her hands and/or feet (she pushes against the arm of the glider like she's trying to launch off it, while still latched on.. ouch!), nursing necklace. Might try michelle142's ribbon idea too.

Solids? - BLW. Most successful with carrots and watermelon. Also rice cereal mixed with cold BM, he does okay with it.

Questions/AW? - Nope

What're your coping mechanisms for these strong distracted babies? - Singing. Nursing sitting up with him also sitting up. Giving up and trying again later.

Oh yeah, no AF here, exclusively nursing, condoms for BC. DS has been STTN regularly since 8 weeks, with a few periods of wakefulness. But I do SAH so we're together all day.

seamonster I've let DD drink some water out of my glass before. It's messier and she only bothers for 1 or 2 sips, but she likes trying what Mommy does from time to time. We also tried giving her prune juice from a shot glass. That seemed to work better, though she still doesn't close her mouth immediately once liquid gets in. She makes a surprised face and it dribbles down the sides of her mouth. :-P

seamonster DS is getting pretty good at drinking water from my cup, and I usually keep a small plastic cup of water nearby for BLW time, but I don't give him the cup to hold himself. He'd just dump water everywhere. Maybe if I had an open cup with handles? He's getting pretty dexterous but not good enough to hold a big round cup.
When he's getting his meal, I have this Nuk cup available to him. The upside down handles are a game changer. He doesn't drink water like we do or like a baby drinks a bottle, but he will get a mouthful, pull the cup away, and swallow, then go back for more if he wants more. I do have to keep the cup off his highchair tray if I want him to get any food, because it's his favorite thing.

As far as AF, I got it 6 weeks PP and then started the mini pill. Nothing since. No need to POAS. Action is rare here and we use condoms when it happens.
