Currently freaking out because I was supposed to receive a hat in the mail today for DS's 6 month photos tomorrow. The mail came, but no hat. The tracking for the package still says expected delivery today and that the package is on the way to the destination, but I don't see USPS coming twice in one day. :/
Oh no! And it was definitely shipped via usps, but FedEx or ups?
DS spiked a fever once on the drive but Tylenol took care of it. Thanks to Tylenol, Mickey Mouse clubhouse, and DH riding in the backseat we actually beat the rest of the family here Unpacked and nursing to put DS down for a late nap now. It's coming up on Tylenol time again but he's not hot yet. Poor little would get his first fever-worthy virus on vacation. (WittyLittle)

cloe111479 um. I just went to the AW thread and saw your precious little girl and thought she doesn't get to grow up in Chalmette and just fucking lost it. I am so sorry. My extended family (both sides) were in Metairie before the storm and now except one cousin each side they're on the north shore & in north Louisiana, and Colorado, and Texas, and I hate it. I hate it. I hate it.

Yup. Still nothing and the delivery status has not changed.

My sister face timed me from Burning Man today, coincidentally when we were stopped to feed DS. It was awesome hearing from her! She said there was a wind storm and when it cleared everyone had cell service.

I can't imagine having connectivity at Burning Man. It seems so wrong!
My H left granola with raisins on our coffee table and Aspen (the little dog) decided to help herself while we were getting S ready for bed. So H is having to inducing vomiting, watch her and then pick it up so she doesn't eat it. All of this by by himself since I am still feeding S. You keep eating little one, momma is in no rush.

Aw... Lilyelayne. It is ok. We are in Metairie ourselves now. Most of dh's family is nearby in Metairie. My parents moved to picyune ms, but most of the extended part of my family aunts, uncles and friends live on the north shore-- Slidell, Covington, and mandeville. That's one of the hardest parts. To get together now somebody has to drive about an hour. Before 5 mins.
The storm made me who I am today. It's like any decision or choice, it had an effect but it is passed. It may not have been what I wanted to happen but at the end of it all we still have our family and ours eventually got dd. so, it all worked out in the end

lilyelayne we saw so many vehicles on the road today heading to burning man. You can just tell by how much they are bringing and the weird stuff that they are heading out to the festival. Hope those bugs that showed up this year have gone away.

The crafty lady thread made me spend $80 at the craft/fabric store tonight.
-DS's Halloween costume (requires sewing shirt pants and felt shoes and crocheting a hat) -rectangular piece of raw wood. I am going to use chalk paint to make it into the American flag and hang over our front door. -pairs of shoes for DS
@ellteejay it's the first time I've ever received a phone call from burning man that's for sure! I usually get a letter in the mail a few weeks after my sister returns to civilization. The Black Rock City postal stamp is super cool. mommadozer Burners are an interesting bunch. I'm already looking forward to seeing the photos that'll flood my fbook feed. It's like 3 months of prep, 3 weeks of silence, 3 weeks of crazy photos! I didn't see any bugs in our FaceTime call but I forgot to ask. aggiebug poor Aspen! PikoPiko yay for family but boo for AF.
