Anatomy Scan is this Friday (9/4)! Woohoo! Next OB appointment is 9/10.
3. General symptoms/rants/concerns/exciting things?
The last two nights have been pretty terrible in the sleep department. This pregnancy is definitely worse in terms of my ability (or lack thereof) to sleep. However, this pregnancy seems to be easier in many other ways, so I am definitely not complaining. I would just be a happier lady if I could get some decent sleep at least a few nights a week. Oh well!
Otherwise, my heartburn rages on. I am going to talk to my OB about getting back on an Rx for Nexium at my next appointment. I think it is time. The OTC Zantac is now wearing off mid-day (and middle of the night) several hours before I can take another one, and it is bad news bears. It is also negatively impacting my water intake, since water seems to exacerbate my heartburn significantly. So that isn't good. J has already said if I don't ask for the Rx for Nexium at our next appointment, then she will. HAHA
I am feeling more movement, so that is really nice! It took a while, but now I usually feel something at least once a day, but sometimes several times a day. the movements feel stronger too. I think in the next couple of weeks I will start feeling a lot more, if this is anything like my last pregnancy.
We checked out double strollers on Saturday. Just to browse. There are two we are considering, but we wanted to see them in person, so we went to a local store that carries a floor model of each. Unfortunately, I don't think J and I agree on our favorite, but we still have time. If anyone here has any tips or tidbits about tandem double strollers, I am all ears (I will likely post the same question in the parenting check-in also!)
QOTW: I mainly crave carbs. Shocker! I have been day dreaming about pizza for a while, but I haven't had any yet. My main aversions seem to be certain kinds of yogurt and certain fruit that tastes too sweet. Overly sweet things seem to still make me feel a bit nauseous, but savory things hit the spot!
1. General overview (examples--answer what you like: How many weeks? First baby/, second, etc.? Do you know the sex of the baby? I'm 28 weeks pregnant with baby #1, a girl named Ailsa. 2. Appointment Updates (recent appts? ones coming up?) I have my next apointment on the 3rd. I'm having some screening tests, but I still don't know which ones, my ute measured and my first anti-D shot. Fun. 3. General symptoms/rants/concerns/exciting things? Nothing new really. I'm still getting heartburn, I still feel like a beached whale most of the time. But other than that, I'm doing okay. I finish up work in two months and I'm already making a list of things I want to do in the month before my due date. I'm also slightly weirded out by the fact that I am now second on the EDD list. I feel like I should still be at the bottom. On Thursday I'm going to buy a pram, and some bedding for the basket, and then I think I've got pretty much everything ready! Just need to get some nappies and some more baby grows. QOTW: What have you craved during this pregnancy and have you had any food aversions? I've been craving white chocolate a lot, which is odd because I really don't like it, and lots of salty food. I've been eating loads of crisps, which I don't normally eat at all. My one big aversion has been game-y meats. I miss venison, but when I think about actually having to eat it I want to be sick.
No appointments this week, but we have an ultrasound and bloodwork as part of the integrated prenatal screening next week.
3. General symptoms/rants/concerns/exciting things?
I am very grateful that nausea has really calm down this week and it's been a relief to have throwing up be the exception instead of the norm! The past few days I've been super tired and was actually doing the long blinks at work today.
QOTW: I'm out of ideas here...hmmm. What have you craved during this pregnancy and have you had any food aversions?
I generally have just been adverse to anything that's got a really strong flavor of any sort; too sweet, too salty, too anything. Multigrain Cheerios and peaches have been making me happy the past few days.

wittyandwaiting, it's an injection of anti-D immunoglobulin that most RH- women need to have when they are pregnant. It neutralises any RH+ antigens she might have picked up from the baby, otherwise she'll make antibodies that could hurt the baby.

Freak out coming up.
I woke up this morning with some spotting and basically called in the armed forces (which here in Canada isn't actually much).
Really, I paged my midwife who decided that since it was very light and I wasn't having any cramping that it was probably progesterone withdrawal but to make me feel better put me back on progesterone suppositories.
Anyway, I'm having a terrible day because I can't stop thinking about it and I want to go to the bathroom every 15 minutes or so and check. Also, I'm not accomplishing very much because the most important thing in the world right now is my uterus and what's going on inside of it so I'm having a really hard time being a good employee.
For the record, I did a suppository this morning and I haven't had spotting in a few hours.
wittyandwaiting - I am sorry to hear that you are going through that. I had some light spotting around 7 weeks with this pregnancy and I darn near lost my mind for a couple of days. How are you today? When is your next appointment. Hugs to you!
So many babies recently.....our due date list seems so short.
kh826, Good luck on Friday! Sorry to hear about your heart burn, it sounds rough. ionaerebor, Hope your next appointment goes well and you get a peak at your little girl. wittyandwaiting, Yay for being 10 weeks! But so sorry you're having some spotting. Really hoping it was temporary.
1. General overview (examples--answer what you like: How many weeks? First baby/, second, etc.? Do you know the sex of the baby?
20 weeks 4 days (over halfway!) pregnant with our first child. We've known the sex from the beginning.
We saw our OB yesterday and everything looks good. Got a quick peak and listened to the heart beat . Our next appointment is the fetal echocardiogram at the end of September.
I asked him all my questions about different twinges/aches I've been feeling and everything is normal. We're probably known as the worriers/question askers.
3. General symptoms/rants/concerns/exciting things?
I guess my placenta is fully posterior so I'm going to feel a lot of movement. I've been feeling little bumps for a while now (some days more than others) and just recently have started to feel something that feels like a wave. Could it be them rolling over? CET felt a strong bump last night
Sleeping through the night has been hit or miss. I've had a few really early mornings, like 3:20, 4:30....guess it's practice.
I've been having some leaking like I did with the progesterone and the OB said it was normal for most pregnant woman to have to wear some kind of liner.
This is silly and I just have to get over it and realize my body will do what it needs. But I'm having a hard time with the weight gain. I went into being pregnant pretty athletic and even with exercise and not eating like crazy, I'm still gaining weight. Which I know is normal (I probably sound like a crazy person!), I think I'm worrying about gaining too much. The doctor wasn't worried about how much I've gained so far and said if I gain .5-1lb per week, I should be fine. I'm not used to watching my weight, I typically stay within a 5lb range.
QOTW: I'm out of ideas here...hmmm. What have you craved during this pregnancy and have you had any food aversions?
In the beginning I really wanted meat, a turkey sandwich with basil or shredded chicken sounded so delicious. I'm mostly a vegetarian but eat some fish. Haven't indulged in it yet. I haven't been wanting sweet things and ice cream (not characteristic). This aversion was stronger in the beginning.

Thanks for all your warm and fuzzies everybody! The spotting has totally stopped and I an super nauseous and puking today so I find that oddly reassuring. I'm happy to be back on the progesterone for now.
I have an ultrasound booked for next Friday so I'm grateful I don't have to wait too long.
