I have the grossest mommy moment ever since becoming a mom if anyone is interested in hearing it. It's just so gross...
Eventful weekend, we had a huge family BBQ Saturday and Sunday we went to the fair. Which I didn't enjoy as much because MIL kept taking Isaac from me. I didn't even get to show him the animals! I was not happy at all. DH got some time with him which is good. Just not what I pictured for our outing.
Why does Liam not sleep on the nights MH has to wake up early to travel? Poor guy, he had to wake up at 4 am to get to the airport and Liam went down at 8:30, up at 10:30, 11:30, 1 and 3 am. what the heck. And then I couldn't sleep after H left, and now Liam is napping and I really should nap too. I'm hoping for an epic 2.5 hour nap like he did yesterday. fingers crossed.
oh and the tooth finally cut through. It's not entirely out, but it's entirely cut through the gums. Slowest. moving. teeth. ever.
I have a ques... so, we have well water so it isn't fluoridated. One of the pedi's I saw when Liam was first born mentioned having to give him fluoridated water after 6 months. The pedi I saw at 6 months and 9 months never mentioned anything. Do you think it could have anything to do with his slow growing teeth since he has no fluoride?? (My H is kind of anti fluoride over here- but I'm thinking of compromising with a bottle a day of the nursery water?) I suppose I should call the pedi...
Does it count as sleeping through the night if I have to get up 2-3 times to replace a pacifier? Recently, we've been finding LO sitting up in the middle of the night. As soon as the pacifier is replaced, she basically flops over back to sleep. We don't have a pacifier user during the day, but definitely at night. :/

jjh1119- yay for teeth!!!! I mean popping through. That's the hard part. I don't have an answer for the water. We don't have fluoride in our water up here. I will post the grossest moment in a little bit

Brace yourself. Its so gross. So I go to pick up Isaac to change him after breakfast yesterday , I go to put him down and notice poop all over my arms. Like alot. Offcourse being pregnant I wanted to barf but I was over Isaac so I couldn't barf on him, I had to swallow it!! Then he tried to roll away getting poop everywhere. I finally just hosed him down in the bathroom lol. Get back to his high chair where I notice poop dripping from the seat, I look on the site. There is a man sized pile of poop!! Offcourse I had to barf again but I couldn't so I ended up swallowing it again. So freaking gross. Took forever to clean. My entire living room smelled of poo.
songbirdsinging55, yup, that's super yucky! Isn't it amazing what we never even thought we'd experience as moms but we just kind of push through it for our kids?!
jjh1119, I don't know if no fluoride makes teeth grow more slowly, but I would definitely check with your pedi on what to do. We don't have fluoridated water either and our pedi put DD on a liquid fluoride supplement.
So we're all sick in the kaimee household. It started with DD who gave it to DH who still is getting over it, and now DD has it again and has given it to me. On the bright side, DH and I got away for our first overnight getaway for our anniversary last week since DD was born. We both missed DD, but it was nice just to have some "us" time.
songbirdsinging55 ewwww lol I guess the only thing worse would be if both babies were outside babies and they both pooped. Lol dripping poop is NEVER fun. But we all enjoy a good gross story. Sorry you had to clean that up though.
zengal I am just irrationally thinking that since he has no fluoride his teeth are not strong and that's why this is taking forever. Calling the pedi in a bit
I also laughed at your husbands dive bomb into bed. Sorry you couldn't get back to sleep.

Sounds like quite the poop explosion! Not sure about the fluoride but thank god the tooth is finally showing itself! We have not done an overnight getaway mostly because on average, A is a disaster at night and I don't think my parents would enjoy themselves lol
On overnights- we have done three. He slept well for two and not so well for one. But my parents just bought a crib so he will sleep better for naps and overnights. They had me- queen of no sleep. They said I was way worse and they don't mind. He's also not their first grandkid lol so they love it and don't mind at all

We have city water and no teeth at nine months tomorrow. They'll come on their own schedule. My cousin didn't get any until thirteen months. We've been thinking they were coming soon four months but she's clearly bothered by them right now because she's biting her tongue all day and drooling like a fountain.

Overnights, we haven't done any. I haven't really thought of one either. I suppose it would be nice but I would miss him. I find myself extra snuggly and lovey to DH and Isaac. I think the anger hormones are now gone. Lol
jjh1119 I don't think the fluoride has anything to do with getting teeth. But I would still ask the pedi what to do as far as which kind of water to give him. We still don't have any teeth over here. I'm cool with it because DNW to nurse a baby with teeth. I'll do it, I just don't want to lol.
Overnights: Haven't done one, because I'm still BFing and also because DH is in training for a few months... but I would love to do one around like 13 months because that's when I want to be done BFing. But who knows where we'll be by then! My parents are the only people I would trust leaving LO with overnight, so if we're still near them then, I'd totally love to do it. I haven't had 8 straight hours of sleep since LO was born, so that would be glorious.
I haven't been on here much lately because.... drumroll please.... LO naps in the crib now! No more nap holding! She magically decided she didn't need me to hold her anymore around 8.5 months. So now I have all this time to get other stuff done. Yay!

Finally checking in!! @songbirdsinging5 - LOL that was gross, hilarious, but gross none the less!! nerdalert - So jealous of your crib napper. That's awesome though!
We got back from NC on Saturday night and LO did AMAZING on the plane. I was armed with all kinds of things to entertain him and of course he nursed and napped too. He was a hit with the flight attendant and they even gave him his wings. It was pretty cute. Today we had his 9 month appt. forget that he'll be 10 months old this week. It was a good appt. They did the toe prick and his levels were good. He's 21 lbs (77%) and 31.75" (98%). The Dr. thinks he'll be walking in a month (help me!) and was impressed that he can throw a ball already. Not sure if I've mentioned this but LO wants nothing to do with screens. We've kept him from the TV most of the time and he's not allowed to play with our phones or iPad. Well the other night at a restaurant he kept craning his neck to watch TV. A baseball game was on and he was riveted. It was a Giants game (my late grandfather would have been so proud - die hard Giants fan). Since then he has had no interest in TV unless football or baseball is on. Just kind of cracked us up at how cliche it is for a little boy to want to watch sports and nothing else.

Overnights: DD spent the night at my parents. I had book club over and DH went out with a friend. It was great to sleep past 6 am. I didn't worry about her but she was with my mom. My mom didn't sleep bc dd was snoring loudly (she slept in the pnp next moms side of the bed) or dd would stop snoring and my mom would get up to see if she was breathing. So basically my mom was up all night and DD slept through.
ninergirl52 are you guys tall? I can't remember. Liam weighs the same as your little man but is 30 inches (96%ile) Glad he did well on the plane! I just grabbed some toys and will get a few more for all the trips we are doing this month (two weekends away plus four plane rides in one week (!!!!) glad to know he did well! He wants nothing to do with screens either, except music videos lol. If I play something just for the music I have to locked the screen otherwise he is staring!
MsNicole06 my mom doesn't sleep even when liam does too lol. She still stays up basically all night when my niece and nephew sleep over and they are 12 and 7 lol
nerdalert Yay for crib naps. I'm creating more trouble for myself because I want to nap when LO does, so don't care that I'm holding her.
Haven't done overnight away yet.
Will be flying at the end of September and looking forward to any toys you guys want to share. LO has a Baby Einstein music box she is in LOVE with, but it might not go over well on the plane.

jjh1119 - DH Is 6'1, I'm 5'5, but I'm the shortest person in my family (my brother likes to refer to me as the "runt of the litter") My brothers are 6'6, 6'4 and 6'2 respectively, and my sister is 5'9. So LO definitely has some tall genes going for him.
gldnbearz - My recommendation for flying is as follows: Take your carseat and stroller all the way to the gate and then check them at the ramp. We used gate check bags for the stroller and carseat, since they can get tossed around a ton. Our came back filthy after both flights.http://www.amazon.com/Childress-Gate-Check-Bag-Seats/dp/B000RRD7UG/ref=sr_1_1?rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1441134934&sr=8-1&keywords=gate+check+bag I also booked seats in bulkhead. We ended up getting upgraded to first class on the first flight, but bulkhead is the next best thing, that way you can let them play on the floor and they aren't bugging anyone in front of you. With bulkhead you can't have any bags on the floor during take off and landing. So we just through a few toys and snacks in a small starbucks handled bag. He loved destroying the bag. If you can afford it, buy LO a seat. We ended up sharing our row on 2 of the flights with larger people and I was able to move for one of them, but the other made for a tight squeeze with all of us (DH and I are relatively average size people who fit into the seats with room to spare). No disrespect to larger people, just made it hard to nurse LO without his feet touching them.
The Baby Einstein box is a big hit at our house too!
ninergirl52 haha first off you have a lot of brothers, secondly- they are quite tall!! And your sister so yeah I suppose little man may be getting his height from those genes.
I like your flying recs. we are checking the car seat though (but it's his old one- the infant one) he's got a couple inches to spare but it doesn't fit on the stroller but we planned to take the stroller al the way to the plane.
We didn't get him a seat since we are doing two locations and flying midweek, too. But I don't nurse either. I'm hoping this works out but I'm so nervous.
So much so I may call my PCP for a couple of Xanax (I no longer have a rx but that's how I used to fly)
