Ear infection with no symptoms?

My dd has been flipping out multiple times a day for a week over everything and nothing. The week before last I was away from her everyday for several hours plus evenings bc my mom had surgery and kids aren't allowed at the hospital. I thought it might be from that, but now I'm not sure bc it is still going. We moved to big bed 3 nights ago bc she was flipping out at bed. That seems to be slightly better, but still having to hang out until she is asleep. I am thinking I might take her to doc to make sure she doesn't have an ear infection....is that nuts? She had one last January with no symptoms except screaming at bed. Maybe one day of fever, if any. I hate to drag her over there with all the sickness around, but I am starting to lose my mind. She does have a mild cold right now. Thoughts?

I do it all the time. DS1 had EIs all the time with no symptoms other than night wakings. (Thank God for tubes!) I do take DS2 in if I suspect he might, the docs may think I'm crazy but don't care. It's worth the copay for my peace of mind

She has only had one, but it took 3 antibiotic tries to knock it out...this was last January. She is laying with dh now while he reads stories....but if I leave all hell will likely break loose. We changed insurance plans and have no co-pays...it will cost $127, but still worth it for peace of mind. The tantrums are really wearing us down.  Last night she slept 12 hours but has had some wake ups or early get ups some nights over the past week.

Thank you! It's ok...we have great insurance and I cannot complain.

Oh man, good luck. The one time DS had an ear infection, he also had a cold and I took him to the ped to get checked for pinkeye. No pinkeye, but a double ear infection.

I would definitely go to the doctor for the peace of mind.

Yep, fever and loss of appetite were DD1's symptoms, and DD2 had a fever and that's it. I never would have guessed ear infection and just took DD1 in to see what the heck was wrong after 4 days of 104 fever (Tylenol would bring it down, but only temporarily).

I hope you figure out what's going on, and don't forget it could be 2-year molars!
