Random Poll- hair stylist question

Okay, I know this is totally random, but the issue came up with my stylist last night. Before her, the stylists have always lifted/held my head up to wash and get the dye/shampoo underneath. She expects me to hold my head up, and doesn't understand why people don't hold their heads up automatically. So please humor me ladies and answer this question for me! What's your experience?

Ya that's weird.. I mean I'm not facing her or doing it myself so I don't know how she would expect me to automatically lift my head when it's time, unless she asks of course. But normally we are chatting and I'm not paying that much attention..

I've been dyeing and trimming my hair at home because the salon is awkward AF. I never know which way to turn my head or where to put my purse or if I should close my eyes while they wash my hair.

Yes this...and I was finally able to get my hair colored on my lunch break yesterday and totally fell asleep while my stylist washed my hair.

Yes this...and I was finally able to get my hair colored on my lunch break yesterday and totally fell asleep while my stylist washed my hair.

Okay, thank you! Every other person I've gone to picks it up and holds it while they wash underneath. This girl just kind of puts her hand behind my head and waits. She even told me one day that she thinks it's crazy people assume she'll hold it up. I think she's crazy for wanting me to sit there, straining my neck for her. If it weren't for this part of the wash I'd totally fall asleep too!

also, my stylists usually tell me to relax. Like they massage my head a little and stuff. Holding my head up would totally ruin the effect.

This is me also.  However, when she washes my hair just before a cut she kind of lightly lifts my head, and then I have to hold it myself while she puts the towel under me or washes there.

I think I'd be a little annoyed if my stylist said this. I'm paying you to make me look and feel good, keep your thoughts to yourself and pamper me!

I'm now thinking about getting my hair washed at the salon. I love it, its so relaxing...

My stylist always lifts my head for me (wet hair is heavy!).

Mmmm now I'm all relaxed just thinking about this
