jodielyn10 I'm going to try to increase daytime bottles and decrease night time bottles and see how that goes. She also popped her first tooth today and started crawling and pulling to stand in the last week, so maybe those developments were causing some extra wakeups.

Thanks for the advice gals!

Active babies... I can't believe I am struggling with this since Henry was the same way but how on earth do you keep your baby entertained?! Cece naps twice a day for maybe 30 minutes (at most) each time then she sleeps a very broken 8 hours at night. She is awake all the fucking time and she always wants to be doing something and nothing holds her attention for longer than a minute. She won't let me just sit and hold her and all I do is either move her from one seat, swing, bouncer, jumper, high chair, floor, etc over and over or wear her (because more often than not she doesn't want to sit in anything). I have no idea how to keep her entertained for such a long period of time. I will set her up in front of Henry playing because she loves watching him but other than that I'm at a loss.

laurski81 I sit P down in front of cupboards I don't mind her messing up (like all the Tupperwear) or give her bags of "toys" (today she helped me organize the kids medicine bag--sounds terrible, but everything was closed!). Now that she's crawling and standing, she is into everything and I have to keep a good eye on her.
She seems most content watching/playing with Dylan.
You've probable tried them but I'll list a bunch of toys that worked for both girls:
crunchy books blocks that rattle (it was a set of 4) some crunched some rattled and they were bright colors. At BRU A tummy time matt. I got one for eliza and it also helped with tummy time. Ours was like this but there are other versions as well:
Sitting outside (always worked for H) Sophie almost all oball toys. we had a ball, rattle, and the rings. nonconvential toys: spatulas, pots/pans, beaters/whisks
What do you guys find helps with teething pain? I'm pretty sure this is why P is not sleeping this week. D never really made a fuss when teething, but poor girl seems like she's in pain. I just gave her some ibuprofen and am h op ing that helps some.
mightybee - Andrew is the same way. We have just been giving him some baby tylenol right before he goes to bed (he can't have ibuprofen). Last night he actually slept a bit better than he has the past few days. Like D, Kayleigh never seemed phased at all with teething. Andrew is very whiny and cranky.
mightybee, I know I'm in the minority, but if ibuprofen isn't working then we use orajel or a teething jel. If I don't have the orajel brand then we use Target or Walgreen's brand. We also found a liquid kind at Walgreen's for Eliza. It has seriously helped us with screaming in pain episodes during the day. And it's gotten where she understands that it helps so she doesn't bite you as much now.

All of this...and so snotty! And Dylan has a cold so I feel like I'm covered in boogers.
P is cutting her 2 bottom teeth. What's going on in A's mouth?

So much snot! I've had a cold too so for a little bit I wasn't sure if he was teething or just miserable from a cold. He just cut his two bottom teeth last week. Then we had a few days of semi calm but it looks like he may be working on his top teeth now (though its kind of hard to tell if that is really what it is).
Moms of girls, should I be trying to wipe away all the discharge or just leave it be? There's so much gunk up in there!
Wipe just like you do yourself. Front to back. Wipe, but no need to get up in there.
Eta: unless it's poop. Then you need to get that out. I will say after having both now, that wiping a girl is easier than wiping a boy (so.many.wrinkles.)

Lots of discharge at first is normal because she's got all your hormones still - I remember wondering if newborns could get yeast infections, lol. Now I keep her clean with wipes daily but don't go too crazy trying to get all the discharge because the doctor said its fine and too much wiping is irritating for Dd. On bath night I use a washcloth and clean well.

At night time if it's bad, we use Tylenol. I haven't tried Advil yet but I'm sure that would work too. During the day letting her chew on a wet washcloth is one of the most helpful things!
sarasansh - We didn't wipe out all the gunk unless there was poop. Our pedi actually said not to wipe it all away since it actually protects her a bit. So when there is poop, the discharge actually helps act as a bit of a barrier.
cookiesandwine - Cleaning a girl is so much easier! With Andrew there are so many wrinkles, crevices and having to pull skin back. I swear that after all that work, the next time I change his diaper I still find poop hidden away somewhere.
On the topic of changing boys, my kid is starting to creep me out. Sometimes when I'm cleaning his little pen!s (I'm at work so I can't type it out), he starts this creepy little giggle.
I always thought girls would be harder but I agree boys have a ton of places for it to hide too. It does get better when they get older. I think that is probably why Patrick and now William get a bath after big poops. It's iust easier to rinse them off.

This, all of this. I still remember my follow up appointment with Hanna the week after delivery and my doc actually milked her. I feel wierd evening typing that. But he did get a tiny drip out of her. I was shocked and asked why and he explained it's from all the hormones from you and it's completely normal.

We let Ellison play with anything that she can't choke on. The more she thinks its something of Gages the better. Or put tons of toys in a bag and let her take them out. Ellison loves that game.

More diaper change questions! The pedi said M might have bloody discharge, almost like a mini-period, because of all the hormones. She's had that for a day or two and it's freaking H out. He even asked me "to ask the board ladies." So did your baby have this? And how long did it last?

Dagny did but Freya hasn't yet. She does have a lot of white discharge though. I think it's normal for it to last a few days.
My girls only had the white discharge, but I'm pretty sure I recall my ped mentioning that with Joey and asking if it happened sarasansh. A couple of days I would think normal whole things even out. If it lasts more than 3-4 I might call the nurse line to ask.

Elena had this. I think it only lasted a few days, and was more spotty than finding out in every diaper change.

Cece only had white discharge but my pedi mentioned this as well. I would call if it lasts too much longer.
