Birth control and weight gain question

I've been on the BCP for 8 months and have gained 10 lbs since starting it without changing anything in my lifestyle. I'm okay with where I am weight wise (a little too squishy though), but am wondering if I should expect the weight gain to continue on, or if it will even out eventually? Has anyone ever experienced this and have any insight? I'm on BCP for endo, so non hormonal versions of BC aren't an option. I could switch, but other than the weight gain I'm not having and side effects and it's managing my endo pain SO well that I don't want to mess anything up. The extra weight is worth the pain relief to me, I'm just hoping it will level off at some point. Guess I need to hit the gym more often.

It wasn't something I've had an issue with but I know it's a side effect. You could bring it up to your OB if it continues & see if you could try a different pill.

Yeah, I will if it gets too bad, britbratjf. I just hate making an appt to go because it literally takes half the day just to see her.

same as britbrat, I know it's a side effect or even losing weight, but it never was for me. I would definitely bring it up, but based on your post I too would take the 10lbs for the endo pain to be relieved. I just wouldn't want it to continue going up and up, KWIM.

Yea, that's exactly how I feel bliz1712. I'm cool with 10 lbs, but not 20.
