Since our LO's are nearing 9 months and older when do you plan on transitioning from purees to real food?
I have been adding a little here and there for a few weeks. He has used the mesh feeder but that thing gets cruddy after a few uses so I threw it out. I did wash it right away. We have fed the following non purees so far:
Shredded chicken Shredded pork from boneless ribs Hamburger just cooked not browned Cantelope Mac and cheese noodles Mashed potato Strawberry in mesh feeder Melon in mesh feeder Plum in mesh feeder Apple in mesh feeder
You read my mind. She hasn't had many real solids since she finally just got 2 teeth a week or so ago. I've been worried about her choking, but I think I might try some this upcoming week. We have tried just about the same things as you. Sorry not much help
bdk0186 He has no teeth right now but does gum things. I did buy a stage 3 fruit vege mix. He liked it but I kind of still think he needs more texture. I am going to give spaghetti today.

I'm using puffs and yogurt melts to help LO get used to things that need chewing and tongue movement to swallow. He's one of the younger D14 babies so we're not quite to Cheerios yet.

My LO gets both finger foods and purees. I try to offer finger foods at least twice everyday. Sometimes she gets tired of feeding herself so she gets a puree if she's still hungry. I think she'll tell us when she's not interested in purees anymore.
I started with puffs, Cheerios and toast a couple months ago. I would say 1/2 of what they eat now is real food. Today they had toast and PB, sweet potato steamed and cut into sticks, steamed broccoli, apple cut into sticks, crackers.... They have also had cantaloupe, cucumbers, steamed carrots, bits of ground meat, pasta, pizza crusts, pancakes. One twin is way better with new things than the other, so they still get their fair share of cereal, purrees and yogurt. Eta: neither of them have teeth; you really don't need teeth to mash things.

DS never really took to purees and has completely refused the past few weeks so he mostly eats finger foods. For breakfast he will eat yogurt mixed with some puree. Lunch and dinner are usually a bit of whatever we are eating. One of his favorite veggies is cut up cherry tomatoes.
I have done chicken stir fry, broccoli, cheerios, rice, strawberries not in mesh feeder, and for some reason my husband gave him a couple bites of bologna. He loves chicken.
