Had to order a new vest for the kiddo yesterday, because one part of the buckle ripped out of the seam. I thought we'd be ok to use it because there's a velcro strip at the bottom, but go figure it's popping open as soon as I turn the machine on. The new vest will be here by the end of the week, but now I'm concerned that I'm going to have to search for the percussion cups and start doing manual on a 4 year old that won't sit still because the vest isn't staying in place like it should, therefore may not be hitting all of the zones it needs to clear. #cfproblems
ETA: in case anyone doesn't read my blog or hasn't seen my fundraising videos, this is what it looks like. Judith picked out one of the new patterns, and I'm excited to see it in person! She chose galaxy:

That vest is super cute! Sorry to hear yours broke a friend of mine has a daughter with cf she just got a vest and her daughter thinks its histerical to talk while its on. She gets real into the way her voice sounds and tries to imitate it all the time now.
TheEleventhHour sorry you lost power. It must have been such a tease to wake up with it and think you made it through the worst, only to lose power still. I hope it comes back soon.
We have about 16 inches so far. (Complete estimation from looking out the window, I am not going out yet.) it is still snowing here and will continue all day we have power though, so I am good. Here is what it looks like outside my front door.
I can't figure out my new morning schedule. I've stopped pumping, but I'm going to work earlier, and I can't figure how early I need to wake up. I got to work 15 minutes early today (total waste), but I'm worried that if I sleep 15 minutes later next time I'll be frantic.

I'm tired today. LO slept fine but the damn dogs were up barking from 3-6 randomly. I think we had a cat or something in the bushes outside my window. Scares me half to death though since DH works overnights so we're home alone.

@ladysansa Sorry you had to get a new vest and I hope it works out that you don't have to try and keep her still! I really like the galaxy print she chose!

I hate CPT with a passion and cannot wait until LO can fit in a vest. That one is super cute!

Lol! I know exactly what you're talking about! Judith did the same thing when she first got hers. Heck, even at age 4 she sees how silly she can get with the changes in vibrations.
The bummer with the other one is we haven't had it that long. I ordered that one a month or 2 ago because we needed the next size, but this one just didn't hold up as well as the smaller size. Not that I'm complaining, though, because Judith's stoked for a new pattern.

Ugh, I hate it when that happens! Right now, my dogs aren't too bad with that, but when we have our windows open in the spring/summer/fall, they'll bark at the neighborhood dogs and it scares the crap out of me! Hopefully tonight you'll be able to sleep better.

I hated it too! It took us 20 months before she could fit into a vest because our clinic preferred SmartVest at the time, and their smallest size was still pretty big on her. This system is the inCourage by Respirtech, and I really recommend it because the technology with the way the waves work is really awesome, and their customer service is fantastic! I can't remember if they have a vest smaller than a 20 (so 20" chest circumference), but they might. Once your LO's older, start measuring her chest and asking clinic about getting the prescription to get a vest!
I despise snow. We've got 2 feet at least and I have no idea when we'll be able to dig out. It's going to be so much fun trying to reschedule and catch up with everything at work on thursday! And I've got a 1 1/2 year old that's suddenly refusing naps and still getting over a cold, so that's fun. On the plus side, like a true new englander, we hit the liquor store pre-storm, so... wine!!
Uggg DD is napping I usually sleep with her but can't fall asleep today. But I also refuse.to get out of bed cause H is home and I'd rather lay down than sit awkwardly with someone for another 2 hours.

Yes! The booze in our stores always goes first before a storm.

Okay, will do. These are great tips, thank you. I'm an idiot and didn't realized we'd need a prescription (such a CF n00b over here) for the vest. But it makes sense! We have our 3rd clinic next week, I may just ask what the preferred vest is now for curiosity's sake (and so I can research since I'm crazy like that.)
Like several others I stayed up too late reading. Like 330am late And then never fell into a deep sleep. Up at 715. I have banned any reading until I am on vacation next Wednesday. This is ridiculous. I am an adult, I should have more willpower.
According to a FB friend since I vaccinate my kid I am just following the herd and all my research comes from Google. Who knew ::eye roll::
omg. *Rage*
Oh I was. Shaking for like three hours. Also apparently the chicken pox vaccine was created so working parents didn't have to take off work to care for their sick kids. I HATE being working mom shamed more than anything else.

wow. That's just too ridiculous to even respond to. I'd be doing some unfollowing/deleting!

Thanks...I may just crate them tonight which they'll hate but now that LO is STTN, I want to sleep too!

Aaaah!!! All of the good information can be found via Google! (in medicine, anyway) Yes, Googling will also get you a bunch of crap, but done correctly it will also get you reliable expert reviews of current knowledge and cutting edge research (which all clearly supports vaccination).
Sorry, I'm a librarian; even among all the other stupidity from this person that was too stupid for me to let pass. Good for you for unfriending that idiot.

I hadn't even heard about the Disney measles debacle until my mom mentioned a couple of days ago. I just screamed "GD ANTI VAXERS!"
Unless you have a medical condition that prevents vaccination like being immunosuppressed or you have a known allergy to a component of a vaccine there is ZERO (real, scientific) evidence against vaccines.
