I'll go first -
So we are TTC and were trying to get a quickie in before my DH had to go into work tonight ... We put DS to bed and of course tonight was the night he had to get out of bed and come into our bedroom (NEVER happens).
Luckily we heard his door open but if he had gotten to our door 2 seconds earlier, im sure he would have been scarred for life ....

I took both kids to the beach today, on my own. It's a really shallow beach, and even fifty meters in, the water just goes up to Tumaini's knees. She ran up to me to tell me she had to pee and I didn't think we had time to make it to the toilets, and I didn't want to carry both kids for the ten minute walk. I told her to go further away, and to squat and pee in the water. I turn around, and she had pulled down her bathing suit and was clearly peeing. I totally pretended she wasn't my child.
We went to a fair on Saturday night and they had a whole booth dedicated to deep fried sweets. I had Oreos, peanut butter cups, snickers, and Twinkies. I spent $32.

That sounds amazing! Deep fried Oreos are my favorite!
Vera seriously almost got electrocuted! I had her in the living room blocked off and ran to the kitchen. Well I had an extension cord plugged in and it must have fallen off the counter where it was at. She busted out of the living room and was crawling and got the cord under her and then went straight for the dog bowl!! Brent and I both caught her before she got there but JFC I was shaking so bad! Worst mom ever! Cord is now rolled up and unplugged.

cbear, scary! Could happen to anyone though, it's not like you aren't careful.
I got nothing. I've done nothing this weekend but work on the house. I'm utterly convinced that I'll never find a house we can agree on, and I'll spend the rest of my days chasing every cobweb that ever forms and reorganizing things like our garage storage. (And yes it's getting to that point).
In order to get Dylan to go pee before bedtime, I asked if he wanted to pee together (sometimes H and D pee at the same time and he thinks it's fun). Eew, well, I should have realized that his aim isn't that great and he peed on my butt. So gross! What kind of mom am I, letting her kid pee on her? A gross one, that's for sure.
Ugh thanks xanthepants! These kids are so different I feel like even at a year Elise was very cautious and Vera is very NOT haha so I feel like I am constantly having to watch her like crazy and am so mad at myself that I missed that cord on the floor!
I'm sure a house will pop up that you both love! Didn't you take him to look at one a 2nd time this weekend?!? How did that go??

Not quite the same, but my son thinks it's hysterical to "pee on my pee" meaning I go first and then he goes on my pee that's in the toliet ... I didn't really think much of it until yesterday when we were out in a public restroom and he stared yelling with several other moms in the bathroom about how he "peed on my pee".

cbear, I go and look at everything first by myself with Cosette on Fridays and then if it's worth him looking at I ask him to go for a second look which we did. We had agreed to a top $ amount. Apparently he doesn't really want to spend that and isn't truly entertaining that in his mind and wants to spend 50000 less. But the way home was the first time he opened up to me about how uneasy he was about the dollar amount. Anyway It is impossible to find what we are looking for the number he wants. So I feel defeated and like we aren't on the same page. Of course we are not. We never are when it comes to this stuff. I can't force him to do something he doesn't want to do in his heart. I'm just frustrated he lets it get this far without being open and honest with me.
Robin hates to pee in public (still scared of automatic toilets, even if I cover the sensor) so he'll hold it and then have to go pee super bad when we get home. I let him pee on a bush in my front yard I don't like.
Confession part two...pee doesn't gross me out. Except MH's because it smells like pretzels.

We are away for the weekend with some family in the mountains. We had baked beans for dinner. I've been letting off farts all night while we watch tv. Thankfully they haven't smelt and no one has said anything.

Ugh I am so sorry!! That has got to be super frustrating don't give up though I'm sure something is out there for you!!

You may actually be helping the bush out. The extra water and nitrogen from the urine acts like fertilizer. I don't know if your goal was to get rid of the bush, there are easier ways.

so sorry to hear that you guys are so far apart on this house thing. I would be incredibly frustrated if I had been operating under one set of parameters only to find out the goal post had been moved.

It's Monday but I'm still going to jump in here. I'm being a complete brat about the house that we didn't get over the weekend. It was seriously the PERFECT house in my mind. Nothing else that is on the market right now compares and I'm bitter, angry, and holding it against my H. I'm concerned any house I like (mostly new construction) will be the same (not allowing the sale to be contingent on an inspection) and I'll have to settle on a house I don't want. We essentially have 3 weeks to find something and I'm really worried. I'm not usually such a negative person but I just can't shake it. I'd be willing to drop the inspection contingency but my H isn't. I just wish he wasn't so risk adverse all the damn time.

All of this. I'm so sorry xanthepants! I hope you can find something you both love in a price range that he's comfortable with.

paddyb, summergirl1211, cbear, Summergirl Let's ship our risk adverse husbands off together and let them find houses and we will bask in our perfect places together and jump in feet first ok?
summergirl1211, did you ask a real estate agent if that is the case?
I didn't ask the guy I talked to at the new construction about whether you can make the offer contingent on inspection, but he did bring up the fact that I am free to get one if I want without me mentioning it. Which makes me think that it is that builder, not the norm. (I could be way off base-you should totally ask you agent)

paddyb, we're having our agent check with a few of the other builders we're interested in. I've done some research this morning and it seems pretty standard that builders who offer warranties don't allow offers contingent to inspection, but yet all the experts say it's super important to get one anyway. We're thinking some of the smaller builders might be more flexible, whereas the larger builders are not. I know the larger builders want to use their paperwork, which is obviously less buyer-friendly than the standard PA's most agents use. I'll definitely let you know what we hear!

Was there a warranty offered? Is there something in particular your H was concerned about that the warranty wasn't enough?

Yep, a warranty was offered. But there are a ton of complaints about the builder not being responsive to issues or not fixing things under warranty.
I guess the builder's agent texted our agent saying they would be fine with us doing an inspection prior to signing the PA, and I ran it past my H. I told him if anything funky comes up we could just walk away and only be out the $ for the inspection. He's considering it, depending on some other places we're looking at this week. This is a lot more complicated than I thought it would be!!
summergirl1211, that's great news about allowing you to do the inspection first. Honestly, that was the thing that sent off the most alarm bells for me - no contingent and also you can't do it before hand seemed really shady.
