We need a new video monitor for the foster baby room. With Emma we had a motorola and had no complaints, but it died somewhere around the 2 year mark. I'd really like one that will last longer since we plan to foster for a while and will have babies of varying ages, so will use it longer. Is there anything new and wonderful that has come out or is motorola still one of the better ones? Any rec's?

I don't know if this is something you would be interested in, but my husband bought an IP camera (I think that's what it is called) and it works with an app on our phone. It's linked to our wifi only so it is more secure than most regular monitors (my husband does security stuff in an IT department, I know none of this ). We have a regular monitor for sound. The IP camera was only about $40 so even with the monitor we also bought, we still spent way less than the video monitor. If you are interested, I can get the link for the one we have from DH.

Ours broke around 2 years too and I've been looking into a new one too. Costco has a Samsung IP camera on sale until 9/27 I think for only $99. We will probably go with that this time around.

We have a summer infant one with E. it has held up for 3 years now. We just got this inexpensive one for the new babies room. It seems like it will work pretty good when we set it up.
I have a summer infant one that I got as a baby shower gift when I was pregnant with Asher. We don't use it often since we moved, but it still works perfectly at 5+ years old!
Thanks ladies! Sorry, I posted and ran the other day.
I would love the link, heatherbee! If I'm reading this right, the IP is video only? No sound, but you have a secondary audio monitor? That would work great for us because I was a camera for the babies, but only audio for Emma since I can't hear her upstairs.

DH is sleeping but I'll get the link tomorrow The camera is video only (you can select sound but would need the app on your phone open and running the whole time). We also have a sound monitor - when we hear something strange, we check the video app lol.
