Everyone back to work today? I have my half shifts. MIL will be here soon, she is really on my nerves lately. She gets jelous very easily when Isaac only wants me. She almost called herself mom the other day. She also keeps trying to say that he looks like her. Um no, he clearly is Mexican and has a great mix of both DH and I. We also explained how he will be going to daycare after he is a little over one. She keeps making comments on how it's so expensive and we will never be able to afford it. Or how she can't wait to watch Isaac and baby number 2 together. She doesn't get it. Okay, end rant.
songbirdsinging55 I'm sorry your mil is annoying you right now. I would be bothered by that too. My mil and I get along pretty well. Although, she did try to give some cake to lo on Saturday without asking me. Lo spit it out though. She then apologized and said he didn't seem to like it anyways. Oh well.
Today is going to be a long day. I'm so tired from all of our activities over the weekend. The older two kiddos were so tired when I was getting them up for school this morning. I'm taking the kids tonight after work to dinner to meet a friend from high school and her family. I'm excited to see her because it has been six years since I last saw her. Her hubby is in the Air Force and they've been stationed all over the world.
I keep chuckling over an incident that happened last night. We had a long weekend and we all showered last night, got in our jammies and were snuggled on the couch watching tv. LO was nursing and falling asleep, I reached over to grab my glass of ice water. When suddenly LO kicked my glass toppling ice water all over both of us. His reaction was priceless, poor little guy, it was jarring for sure (and I ended up with most of it on me). But his little sputters and look of shock keep replaying in my head making me chuckle. This also totally woke him up, we both had to change clothes and LO ended up playing for 45 minutes after that.
songbirdsinging55 Sorry you have to deal with your MIL behaving like that. Grandparents need to be grandparents, not mom and dad.
l8rg8r We had a busy weekend here as well. Took LO over an hour to fall asleep. Maybe the fact that she woke from an hour long nap at 7pm had something to do with that.
The weekend was too short, with too many activities. No laundry nor grocery shopping was done. Dinner tonight is doomed.
I've been trying to cut from 4 pumps a day to 3. The problem is that the last pump of the day coincides with LO's bedtime and I'm usually the one doing bedtime chores as MH does the bottle cleaning chores.
You said it Gldnbearz! Grandparents just need to be grandparents. When were you doing that evening pump? I've been thinking about cutting one pump session out too. Ever since AF came back I've been less inclined to stay so strict on my schedule. Is that weird?

zengal & gldnbearz - I commend you both for pumping this long. I only do it when I have to. Knowing the hassle that it is, you two rock for doing it for so long!!

I agree about the pumping being hard work! Great job for keeping it up! To Anyone who is still breastfeeding, who is planning on cutting back pumping at work? I hate having to leave to pump 2x a shift. Oh btw, Allison is 10 months today!

jax1182014 - I work from home so I'm able to BF most of the time, as the longest LO is ever away from me is 5 hours, and I can go that long without BF'ing. The hard days are when I have weddings and am gone for 12 hours and only get to pump once or twice. This past Sunday I was only able to get away to pump once, granted I got 10 oz but it had been 6 hours since I'd BF'd LO. Staying on a schedule is no joke. Props to anyone pumping. Oh and then when I do pump, it feels useless because LO likes to go on a bottle strike when he can't BF, so it seems to go to waste a lot. Argh!
I pump 3-4x at work, to cover the 3-4 bottles she gets while I'm gone. And then I nurse 2-3x before she goes to sleep and, more often than not, alllllllll night long. I have been thinking about and would really love to drop a pump session at work, but I feel like she would need to drop a bottle then. Jax, what is your plan for that?
I only pump twice at work nowadays because I'm able to nurse her at lunch. I really would love to not pump at work anymore but figured since I only do two anyway I may need to wait until she's able to do wcm at daycare and we can nurse the rest of the time.
Catching up from being gone this weekend in all aspects of life right now. I tried to read along at some points, but honestly I didn't do much internet surfing. What we did do: sleep a lot, wake up on our own body times, drink tons and tons of coffee, walked allll over San Fran and ate a lot of pastries. Being away from my lady was easier than I thought it'd be. It was a weird glimpse into what pre-baby life used to be like. I can't say I don't miss pre-baby living, but I can definitely say I"m glad to be home. Our girl seemed pretty glad to see us yesterday too, and still STTN which I was not expecting.
H is traveling until late Thursday now and I'm flying solo. Hope to be around these parts more!

ninergirl52 - awww that is funny and sounds adorable l8rg8r - I love reunions with good friends, hope you get some good rest tonight :-) gldnbearz - I used to pump right after his morning feeding. Then twice at work.
zengal At 4 pumps a day, I was doing 6:30/7, noon, 5/7pm, and then some time from 11pm-2am.
I was always rushing to pump at work before leaving the office or pump as soon as I walked in the door. Dinner time was a rush. Plus LO goes to bed around 9-10 pm and I'd love to not get up after she goes to sleep to pump.
Now I'm aiming for 6/7am, 12/2pm, and around 9/11pm.
I meant Gldnbearz, I hear you on the rushing around to pump! The first thing I do when I get here to work and the last thing I do before I leave. I'm over it!

I think I'm just going to pump once at work.. Is this the typical time to start cutting down pumping? I'm still going to nurse on demand. I only really work 2-3 times a week anyway so I think it will be ok

I'm enjoying my night. I came home early enough to make pizza dough and now I just made cookies for the week. I have a sleepy baby in my lap. She's getting so long that she won't fit before long.
Pixie your weekend sounds amazing.
Good luck to the pumping mommas as you start to reduce pumping. I'm impressed you have all nursed for so long.
