I'm trying to revamp my wardrobe a bit. I struggle with buying more professional, grown up clothing (including casual as well as more dressy) that isn't too feminine. I'm not butch really, but not really fem either ( if we are going to talk stereotypes). I'll wear a dress or skirt occasionally. And when I was pregnant I did this more as it fit better. I don't wear much make up. I hate heels.
Anyway, thought it would be fun to see where you all shop and what type of clothing.
I buy most of my work stuff at Anne Taylor. I'm only 5'5" and their stuff fits me well. Jeans and casual stuff at Eddie Bauer. Although if I'm honest I prefer running shorts and a tshirt most of the time. I'm mostly a jock though and my office is on the casual side.
I feel your pain, I always feel like I could dress better. Dressing well does not come naturally to me. **Confession** I'm jealous of the guys who can wear dress pants, dress shirt and tie and be appropriate for any occasion. And it's so easy to match it all! I'm so bad with accessories and all the girly things...scarfs oh let's not go there.

I'm so jealous of guys too for that reason!
I used to wear a lot of button up collar shirts with dress pants to work. And generally love button up shirts but as I have gained weight they don't work as well.
I sounds like you - I am not butch - but also not really femme.
My 'uniform' for work consists of khaki or black pants with a tank or t-shirt and a cardigan from Lands End (I have them in just about every color.) A lot of my pants come from Kohls (because Lee casual pants fit me and are cheap) and most of my shirts/sweaters from Lands End. Clothes from Talbots fits me the best, but I don't have money to shop there regularly (I never buy full priced items and try to go to the outlet - but stuff is still $$.)
Weekends are khaki shorts/jeans and v-neck t-shirts from Lands End.
I am not opposed to dresses, but never seem to buy them or wear them to work. I think I did 1x since I was leaving early to go to a funeral and people nearly fell over themselves that they could see my legs.
I need to go get some pants for winter. Most of my pants are ankle length so I can wear ballet flats with them - but my office gets so cold in the winter that I need heavy socks.
I have a pair of leggings and some long tunic shirts. L says they look nice, but I always feel like I forgot my pants.
When I'm skinnier I like to wear "men's clothes" from old navy or target. Button downs, jeans, etc. However, when I'm a size 20/22 in women's it's really hard to find men's clothes that fit. As a result my style is more "feminine". I shop at additionelle and Lane Bryant (plus size stores) and tend to wear jeans, cardigans, sweaters (men's sweaters still generally fit), Capri pants, etc.
Summer shoes are almost always chacos. Winter shoes are almost always blundstones. (My workplace is pretty casual)
****loss and living child discussed***** We're queer. I'm 34, have severe stage 4 endo, and both fallopian tubes are gone. My love ("Manada" 33) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tav.in and Ca.sey at 21 weeks gestation.

I'm also neither feminine or butch. I do wear skirts and dresses, but most days I'm in t-shirts/knitted jumpers and skinny jeans. Most of my stuff comes from H&M and Kjäall Räven, and and if I'm treating myself, Norse Projects. I love the look of button up shirts, but my boobs are way too big to look okay in them. My shoes are pretty much all either really cheap flats or Dr. Martens.

I should have added that I am a size 16/18/20 depending on where I go, and I'm most definitely femme. I personally shop anywhere that has a nice plus size section and online.
Forever21, H&M, Old Navy, JCP, Etc. I have a hard time finding the right kind of clothes as I'm in between juniors and women's, so I guess that puts me in misses but that section isn't really my cup of tea. I struggle with looking too young, or too old in my clothes.
I am definitely feminine in my preferred style. When I am thinner, I prefer Banana Republic, Gap, Ann Taylor, LOFT, etc. for my professional wardrobe. I also like button down shirts with dress pants. Usually with shoes with a small heal or wedges. I also love a good pencil skirt; however, since giving birth my hips have widened CONSIDERABLY, so I don't know if I will ever be comfy in a pencil skirt again even if I do manage to get back to my goal weight (pre-TTC I was about a size 6, and that is where I am most comfy and confident).
As a bit heavier version of myself (or pregnant - as I often am these days HAHA), but style seems to be more for comfort and fit, and a little more casual in general. I love a good ballet flat, and I have been wearing lots of flowy dresses, maxi skirts, etc. I definitely prefer a more structured look, but that only really works and makes me comfortable when I am thin. Right now I am buying affordable pieces that are comfortable and versatile. I shop a lot at Old Navy, Target and a consignment website I really like called Thred Up. I layer A LOT. Cardigans are my friend.

I'm boring and pretty feminine. I wear a lot of black, grey, beige, greige and sometimes a colour but not often. I shop at The Gap and The Bay (It's a Canadian department store that carries many brands and I don't know what it compares to in the U.S.). I wear dresses, nothing with a real floral print though, and a lot of skinny jeans or slim dress pants with cardigans; I like subtle, pretty and textures and patterns. There are no buttons that these boobs won't conquer so I have a lot of blouse envy.
In terms of shoes, I wear a lot of flats for convenience sake but I do love a nice pair of heels!
I'm loving all these posts. Thanks everyone. I shop a lot at Target and Old Navy now. I think in part because I get so many clothes for C there. I may start going to Eddie Bauer again. It's been awhile but they do have one in town. They only have a gap outlet here which isn't so great.
