The day after I took my Christmas wreath down and put my Halloween wreath up I put up the rest of my Halloween decorations. I beat walmart and target this year with Halloween stuff!
I'm also bummed I beat them. I love looking at Halloween stuff....

I made no-bake chocolate oatmeal cookies for myself and Eli yesterday afternoon. I only made a half-batch, but there were still a bunch left. I put them in my lunch box for today and didn't even tell my H or Ingrid that I made them. I'm eating one now.
I took off yesterday, thinking I would be home alone. DH was supposed to work and the kids were all at school/daycare. Well, DH took off at the last minutes. Not only was he home, he has a man cold. I would have been better off going to work. I had fully planned to lay around and binge on Netflix. Instead, I had to listen to him whine.

Ugh I'm sorry, that's the worst! Whenever I take a personal day to spend some me time my H ALWAYS sleeps in and lollygags about in the morning getting the kids ready and out the door. NO NO NO!! I take that personal time to be ALONE and you're killing it!!!

Tumaini asked my why MIL did a certain thing, and I replied with "because she's a little bitch". I don't think she understood, because she didn't repeat it or ask questions, but I apparently have to start thinking before I talk.

Also, I really really want to be "pretty much done with adulting today".
I still have so much work to do, I'll probably be back at my desk till midnight tonight. I might drink while I work tonight. That's acceptable on a Friday night, right?
Eliza's either coming down with a cold or getting a tooth and it's bugging her. Her sleep last night sucked, and by 2:15 the only thing that helped her was letting her hold her sippy cup of milk. Every time I took it away she started crying, even when it looked like she was dead asleep. FC: I gave up and let her just sleep in her crib with it. I'm pretty sure she didn't drink any and I just wanted some sleep.

Yes! Going to have to try it again at a later date!

Last week was A's first week at preschool. He goes a half day 2 days a week and I sent him both days with a runny nose and cough. If the teacher asked I was going to say it's allergies. He didn't have a fever and if I kept him home every time he has a runny nose, he'd never go to school.
So, it turns out I am that mom that sends her germy kid to school to spread it around.

Shit, Riley has a runny nose half of the year! I wouldn't feel bad at all. As long as you're following the preschool guidelines for sickness (and I can't imagine cough/runny nose would require staying home) then I wouldn't worry one bit.

Oh I so am/will be that mom too. My kid is sick with a cold all winter. I would be arrested for not sending my kid to school if I kept him home for a cough or runny nose. I also never take his temp unless he seems way out of it. I play the ignorance is bliss card.

There's no way around that. My kids usually starting having cold symptoms as soon as the weather cools off and it lasts until spring. They would sent out truant officers if I kept them home over stuff like that. Unless someone is running a fever or in a lot of pain, they gotta go.

Well now I feel better. H was all "maybe we should keep him home. What if they call us to pick him up? Do you think the teacher is going to ask us about it?" So I felt bad. But shit, kids are always sick.
I've been in meetings with corporate HR since Tuesday and it's been awful. Nothing bad it's just talent review time and like everything else this company does...they spend a ton of $$ to send these people around to hold useless meetings, etc...
So yesterday was my third day with them and they wanted to hold a meeting with a few people at 9am. I told them that I already had a call scheduled for that time and I would have to join them once I was done.
North Pole Express tickets went on sale at 9am yesterday and since all the good dates are sold out within minutes I wasn't missing that for another fucking meeting. I got the tickets I wanted

If kids were kept home every time they had the sniffles teachers would literally get nothing done. At back to school night Robin's teacher straight up said "just send them. We can always send them home."
I have a non stress test this morning and I've been excited about it since it was scheduled. It will be the most quiet alone time I've had in a long, long time. The confession part is how lame this confession is.
We're still having issues with Asher getting on the school bus in the morning. I'm trying really hard to be calm and understanding, and help him through it, but a part of me is so over it. I just want to shove him on the bus and say, "Enough already!!"

E hates sleep. Yesterday she finally napped at 4. I put on wild krats and took a nap on the couch while Gage watched it. I woke up to him telling me H was calling.

Okay, so based on the chat stew/wedding discussion, here's another FC:
The three weddings I've been in (two sisters and a friend), I didn't give anything at the wedding. After paying for the dress, alterations, hair, makeup, shower, shower gift, bachelorette party & gift, hotel room for the wedding (including one 10 minutes away from my house), I was in for well over a thousand for each. By time the wedding day came around, I was usually done spending money, not to mention broke.
I know that's what you sign up for when you agree to be in a wedding, but after all that, I didn't feel a need to give them ANOTHER present. Especially since I had a courthouse wedding and a brunch and didn't make them do all that for me.

I dread Fridays now. I love the kids but 4 is just too much. By 8am I'm ready to call it quits for the day and break into the wine. Some days I do. I also depend on the TV a lot because it's like the 10th circle of hell in here...

aimeefarrahfowler, I can totally understand where you're coming from. Two of my best friends got married the summer between college and law school and I had zero dinero. And one of our groomsmen in our wedding couldn't afford his tux so we gave him the free one instead of giving it to my H. What still irks me to this day is a really good family friend of my IL's who had no issues with money at all and he didn't even bother giving us a card. But believe me, he sure enjoyed the free beer and wine!
laurski81, every time I see your IG pics of all 4 kids, I wonder how you do it! Especially with 2 of them being infants! I work from home on Fridays but would never get anything done if it weren't for my mom who comes over to help. I hope you get at least 30 min of synchronized napping today!
laurski81 - You are a far better person than me. Honestly, if that were me, I would tell my sister she was sh!t out of luck because there is no way I would be watching 4 little kids at once. Although, I can also say I'm not particularly close to my brother so that could be it too.
I had had a couple FC's but I completely forgot what they were...I suck.

My H and I just put on team umizoomi in the other room, locked our door and had sex. It's been a few weeks since he's been sick and I wanted to make sure I didn't get sick from him. Desperate times.
My mil took Sadie for an overnight and I think I'm gonna have to put out tonight. First time pp. But I don't wannnaaaaaa. I just want to sleep. Alone.
PS I hate that tapatalk messes up emojis.
After I had Patrick I lied to my H and told him that my doctor told me a couple more weeks after my 6 week checkup. I knew I was still sore and didn't want to. Bad wife here.

Costco had toys out for Christmas. I miss the good ones every year waiting for DH to be ready to buy gifts. I went ahead and got 4 paw patrol cruisers and a paw patrol play mat. I should feel guilty and I don't. I refuse to miss out on getting them because he wants to wait until Christmas Eve to buy presents.
