So since day one I've always breastfed but supplemented a feeding or 2 with formula so the transition to me going back to work was easier. I can't feed her and pump enough to only give her breast milk when I'm gone. She took to formula immediately and had never had any issues with a bottle or formula until about 2 weeks ago. She suddenly refused the drink formula. She makes an awful face and sometimes gags. Right now I'm on an overnight trip for work, I won't be back for 10 more hours and my husband is out of breast milk and again she is refusing her formula and is just screaming non stop. What could cause this and how can I fix it?

I've tried gentlease but she had a dairy intolerance so I got alimetum (sp?) Liquid first and she was fine with it so I decided to get the powder not knowing it tastes different. That was about the time she started refusing ALL formula. My husband brought her to his aunt's house after a solid morning of screaming today. She got her to take the liquid again. I'm not sure if it's just random though. On a rare occasion the past few weeks she would drink even the powder stuff with no problem. There's just no consistency with her like and dislike of formula. I just don't get it.

Oh no! I don't have an answer for you, but I will say my EBF baby has randomly refused my breast a few times, complete with yanking away and screaming his head off. Even when I "know" he should be hungry. I can't figure it out, but usually an hour or two later he'll eat again.

My LO takes alimentum too. We started with powder, but found that she was spitting up a lot with it. Once we switched to liquid we haven't had any problems. There is definitely a difference between the two. So maybe it's the powder.

Her tummy may not like the Alimentum powder. We had to put DD on it because of a cow milk protein sensitivity and she couldn't handle it. It's made with a corn base that is sometimes too hard on them. She also may just not like the taste of the powder. If she will take the liqued, I'd just stick with that.
