MsNicole - those days are the worst! LO had a really rough night the night before last. I'm not sure how I functioned yesterday. We put LO's PNP back in our room (we keep it downstairs for my mom and to use as a changing station) and I put LO in it last night (instead of directly in our bed with us). He lasted a whole 45 minutes. I'll take what I can get. He woke up twice in the middle of the night and I got him right back to sleep (in our bed) but then he woke up around 5 am and tossed and turned the next hour. DH took him so I could sleep a bit (I had to be up at 6 am). So yeah ... I'm going to need all of the coffee today.
Despite him fighting sleep so much yesterday, he slept well and stayed in bed with us from 6 am to 8:30 peacefully cuddling (so so rare already for that).
I think part of the reason is that he gets cold by the MOTN-early morning. He wears long sleeve and pant cotton pajamas. I think I will have to add socks to the ensemble and maybe in the morning put a receiving blanket over him. I trust that he should be fine with a blanket by now.
What are y'all's plans for the coming fall and winter for sleep? I'm thinking I will get fleece footies (size 24m) for the winter and if the blanket works out, doing the blanket too
Oh, what to wear in sleep for the chilly months...that is a non-issue 'round these parts. Not because it doesn't get chilly, but because baby doesn't sleep in her crib at all anymore! I lay her down and she doesn't want any part of it. Sleepy, awake, asleep- nothing. Not happening. I read an article by a pediatrician about the family bed and it made me happy because he normalized exactly what we're doing and said it's good for babies and mommas too. So back to what to wear: regular pjs, onesies, or footies, whatever she happens to be wearing
Taking a day off to play with my bestie who moved abroad and is visiting the states! Then tonight I'm having a few coworkers over for dinner. I'm super into this not working thing.
Night time winter wear: LO has some warm fleece Jams that should do the trick but not opposed to throwing a blanket in with her. I've got a hunch she'll move too much to stay covered, so we plan on turning her radiator (old ass building) up high.
Hope you ladies with rough sleep make it through today!
LO napped well yesterday. We got in two 1-1.5 hours naps and she was in bed by 9:30pm. In the meantime, sooo active! Crawling around and pulling up and defiantly climbing onto the dog's pillow. Sooo cute!
We pay the price in the middle of the night when she's been waking up, needing a bottle. Not sure whether it's because she isn't getting enough solids or something else. Granted weekend schedule is not as food oriented as at daycare (every 3-3.5 hours).
She sleeps in a short sleeved onesie under a sleep and play type pajama. Sometimes, we tuck her into a sleep sack. We also have a fleece sleep sack. Not so much an issue if she's sleeping with us.
gldnbearz we are back to MOTN bottle feeding. I give it to him because (1) he is SUPER active all day (2) gets mega distracted and doesn't eat until he is full and (3) needs the calories because of both 1 and 2. He also refuses a bottle before he goes to sleep, so he just prefers his bottle at midnight instead of 8 pm.
pixie that sounds like a fun day!
Liam rarely sleeps with us and the temp in our room compared to his room is like easily 10 degrees. It's hard to figure out a good balance, but I can feel his body and feet are cold, so like this morning he stayed in bed with us. We are going to FL next week (yay!) and will be cosleeping that whole week. He will probably take a while to get back into sleeping in his bed when we get back, but it will be much chillier here when we do get back,

The weather in the PNW seems to change daily so LO's pjs change with it. Since he mostly sleeps with us its usually short or long sleeve cotton pjs. I have some footed fleece pj's ready for him when it cools off. zengal I want to read this article - I'd love to stop getting side-eyed by every person that hears we are co-sleeping.
Also, it's 8 am and since DH had to get ready for work and I'm working, we put LO back in his PNP and he's been sleeping in it for almost an hour. I think we're going to attempt to get him to sleep in the PNP in our room before we try the crib again. The next 2 weeks are going to be crazy, we are heading up to a cabin on an island near Canada on Thursday, since I'm coordinating a destination wedding on Saturday. Then we get home Sunday afternoon, I have to pack and my mom, sister, nephew, LO and myself are leaving for NYC for 3 days. They are coming for fun and to watch LO while I work Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm going to try to take Thursday off so we can site see a bit before our evening flight. When we get home, I have a wedding that Saturday. THEN we're home for awhile and we will attempt to bring some normalcy back into LO's sleep locations.

DD was unable to wear fleece last winter because she runs so hot normally. She is just like DH. My plan is cotton jammies. I'll lay a crocheted blanket in with her if I think it feels cold. DHs brother is a SIDS survivor so its the only blanket DH has agreed to.
Ninergirl that sounds like a very busy few weeks! Have fun!
I have a couple crocheted blankets my grandmother made, maybe I'll use those. Good idea msnicole
Just got Liam's first carters shipment (I got two) starting his fall and winter wardrobe is fun! I'm excited for him to wear real clothes this year. We were pajamas all day and night last winter lol
JJH super cute haul! I'm just waiting until baby starts walking so she can wear the cute dresses; they don't work so well for crawling (even though it's really funny to watch her try). And I love your cat!! Ninergirl, here's that article/blog: drjaygordon.com/attachment/sleeppattern.html
Pants on our hardwoods are not good for crawling over here lol. He still prefers crawling over walking. Walking is a few steps at a time. Crawling he can book across the room faster than we can walk lol

Thanks zengal - that sounds a lot like what we are already doing, but I like the whole approach and may get a bit more serious about it after his first birthday. I love the snuggles ... really I like co-sleeping, it just puts a HUGE damper on any alone time for DH and I. Poor guy has been a trooper this year. Really hoping things change in that department, in the coming months.
JJH - SUCH cute outfits!!! I love dressing LO too ... though I find I dress him different depending upon who is watching him or where we are going that day. He tends to get the dirtiest at the neighbors. Which I'm TOTALLY fine with. So its a lot of plain onesies and sweat pants. I tend to reserve his cuter outfits for when we're going to be out running errands, etc.
Totally agree with different outfits for different places. When he goes to my mil on Fridays he wears dark comfy clothes because he gets really dirty there lol
I'm thinking those are going to be going out outfits. Except the one on the right is a sweatpants set and the one all the way to the left is pretty soft and comfy too
You know, ninergirl52, my baby does sleep in her bed and alone time and DTD time are still scarce here. Like my old STTN mantra, it'll come. (Pun intended)
Super cute haul jjh1119! It's a warmer fall day here and I put LO in jeggings and a cute top and she looks so grown up!
My friend headed to the airport. I'm glad I got to see her as much as I did but man am I sad about her leaving. It's awesome to get to see your friends living their dreams. I just wish her dreams weren't so far away!

Hey everyone! I won't be able to catch up on all the threads I've missed lately, but I'm planning on being around here more often again.
Sleepwear: It's still hot here so LO is sleeping in just a onesie. When it gets cooler, I will either do cotton or fleece footie pajamas. I'm not sure yet, because LO runs pretty warm. I'm leaning toward cotton, but we'll see. She sleeps in her crib with no blankets or anything. I'm not confident enough in her mobility skills to give her a blanket yet. I've also witnessed her lay down on the floor, put a blanket over her head, and just leave it there... So no blankets for her lol.
Sleep has been pretty good here lately. We've kind of fallen into a routine of nighttime sleep from 8:30pm-6:30am with 2 or 3 wakeups (and I only nurse 2x motn, the other wakeups I just pat her back to sleep) so I really can't complain.
In other news, LO got her first tooth today! It's just barely poking through.

jjh1119 Cute haul for Liam. I haven't bought anything for LO for fall, other than several pairs of fleece, footed Carter's PJs. Love the feline photo bomber.

@pixie53 "You know, ninergirl52, my baby does sleep in her bed and alone time and DTD time are still scarce here. Like my old STTN mantra, it'll come. (Pun intended)" he he ... pun intended. Can't stop giggling.
I really want to go shopping for baby! Sometimes when I'm at target I'll look through and select a handful of outfits. And I'll even carry them around for a while. But then I always end up putting them back because her closet is so ridiculous with two cousins worth of outfits already. FWP
I'm jealous of all the hand me downs! My nephew and niece are much older than liam so my SIL has long since given away all her baby stuff. The rest of us are hoarding our own baby gear for our own babes.
But I'm sure I will either have girls next (which some things can be used still) or a summer baby or something and the clothes won't fit for the right seasons lol
I've got the same "problem" zengal! We've got too many hand me downs to really justify shopping.
Second day in a row where LO felt an hour second nap was sufficient. When she's with the nanny family it's a minimum 90 minute nap. I'm giving her 10 minutes of quiet time and hopefully she'll remember she was tired. Ha. Good one me.

DH and MIL went shopping for DD. We have 7 12 month outfits all of which have vests. Puffy or fleece and some are hideous but according to DH he got rid of the really ugly things.
I just can't get excited for things She'll out grow quickly. I have to go spend a day looking at clothes when I'd rather just borrow and not have to tell MIL and SIL that bubble gum pink is a no and all their options are hideous.

zengal if everything wasn't some shade of pink try bought I wouldn't hate it so much. I don't like pink and I'm tired of everyone think because we have a girl she has to wear pink.
Yeah I think if I had a girl I would not want everything pink and would certainly not like things that say princess.
I'm weird about his clothes though. I'm buying everything for fall and winter so come his birthday and Christmas I can say he doesn't need clothes or toys. Books or college fund money are totally fine (or nothing at all!) but my mil tends to buy some pretty ugly things for him. I don't mind putting it straight to a donate pile lol

zengal - I like your no words thing. Though I don't care so much about (some) words, as much as I can't stand things with characters on them. I don't know why, I'm actually a huge fan of comic book movies (I think this is what happens when you have 3 older brothers who raised me on comic books) but that's as far as my geekdom goes. I just don't like outfits that are based around characters.
JJH - I would love it if people opted to give LO money for his birthday, but I'm pretty sure that won't happen.
