How often did your ebf babies get sick in the first year? LO is already on his third cold and he's almost five months. I pictured him not being sick this frequently, but he's also in daycare twice a week. So there's that... just having excessive mom guilt today. Ugh
I agree with nunz, I don't think his colds are abnormal. DS is 7.5 months (in DC since 4 months) and has had 2 bad colds and numerous runny or stuffy noses. I usually get whatever he has and get it way worse.

My son had a couple of fevers, two ear infections. One stomach bug and a constant runny nose his first year (he was in daycare). What you describe sounds totally normal.
Agree - sounds completely normal. I'm experiencing the same exact thing with my DD and her daycare. I'm hoping that she'll have a rock solid immune system by the time she's older...

I hope that will be the case too. So it's not all for nothing lol ugggh this time he has a slight fever and a congestion that's in his chest. Big increase from the previous two runny noses. Ugh I think I'll have to stay home from work tomorrow. I really hate doing that, but guess I'll have to get used to it.
My LO was EBF and in daycare full time beginning at 3 months. From six months until 11 months she had about six colds and three ear infections. Totally normal, especially for a baby in daycare.
The first year, both my kids had a cold at least once a month during the winter months, with a couple spells of 2-3 illnesses back to back within a few weeks. For the most part, they were mild and passed quickly and without any complications.

Normal. My lo's only do DC two days a week as well. Our pedi says even one day exposes them. DS started in October and the first year was sick a lot, pedi said a cold a month is "normal" for the first year in daycare. I will tell you after 18 month mark, he is 2.5 now, he has been sick once.
Think of it like first year teachers, they catch everything.
Up to 6 months: home with me, with in-home care 1.5 days a week. Zero illness. 6-12 months: center daycare. GI bug, countless colds, strep, rsv, 7 rounds antibiotics for ear and respiratory infections, tubes, staph 12-18 months: center daycare. a couple colds, flu (despite van), a couple ear infections, staph.
I got each of those too.
On the up side, she bounces back so so much faster than her peers who are not BF.

This!! We have had one bout of croup at 8.6-9mo on top of numerous little colds and lots of coughing. LO goes to daycare everyday. There is a 1yr old there who is sick all. The. Time.
Sounds normal to me. Both DS1 and DS2 had ear infections at 6 weeks, this LO at 3 months has had nothing yet. All 3 were EBF until at least 3 months. Don't feel guilty over it. LO will unfortunately be sick from time to time, some more than others.
