Crafty people - where do you get your fabric?

I have a few projects in mind - looking for fun prints in organic cotton and some printed cotton gauze. Suggestions?

Fabric.com and natures fabrics are where I've gotten most of mine.

I like fabric worm.com,and maigocute.com. But most of the Japanese fabric the I have is because of my MIL and DH got it from Japan. If you live in LA , it's a small Japanese fabric store in Torrance, the name is moment plus. Is a very small store but it has lots of cute and nice fabric, also if you live in Santa Cruz, is a nice store the is call it harts's fabric. Hart's fabric has a lot of organic fabrics, I really love the store.

I usually buy two or three yards of fabric, depending of what kind of fabric, but if my MIL, or my DH will go to japan, I usually ask for two yards of fabric for two or three different types or fabric.

I order from fabric.com or natures fabrics. If I am buying something I don't have a project for yet I buy 2-3 yards, but I don't do this much anymore since I have 10-15 different fabrics that are unused .

I prefer to shop in store, and we only have Hancock and Joann. I buy 2-3 yards if I find something I absolutely love but have no idea what to do with.

There are a ton of fabric 'stores' on etsy as well that are worth checking out.

I really like Hawthorne Threads (hawthornethreads.com). A quick search says they don't have a ton of cotton gauze, but they have a bunch of printed organic cotton.

I like to touch the fabric first and always go to Joanns simply because that is my only option here.

Oh, and if I find something I like but don't have a project in mind I usually buy 1 yard, unless I may want to make a quilt out of it - then I get 3-4 yards.

For flannel I usually buy it for bold on thanks giving as well for fleece. For flannel I will not pay more than two dollars at yard and for fleece no more than four dollars a yard. You can get copons at Joan's sometimes comes with a very good discounds and deals.

I have had good experiences with Spoonflower especially being able to design it myself. Customer service is also excellent - we had one material that didn't wash right and they refunded everything, rushing our next order so we'd have it in time.

Most cover 1 cut, whether that is 1/4 yard or 10 yards. As long as you are getting 3 yards of the same fabric and only cut the fabric at the 3 yard mark, the coupon should work.

Exactly. Unless you were actually trying to use it on sale fabric. A lot of their fabric is on sale, and only the percentage off the entire purchase coupons are good for sale items. Everything else has to be regular price.
