I did ballet for 13 years and I really miss it at this time of year. We normally started our Nutcracker rehearsals in October and were at the studio all weekend practicing.

I love the adorable pics people post of their babies asleep on the floor or couch or on their bed. DS sleeps in his crib or car seat, or rarely when being worn. If he feels bad, he may take a nap on my chest, but I have to lay him down in his crib for a few minutes first or he won't fall asleep. He wasn't on board for attachment parenting

Boo! Having them fall asleep on your chest is the best feeling in the world. It puts me to sleep instantly.

He's stopped nursing to sleep at bedtime too. He sits up when he's done, but at least he'll snuggle while I recite Goodnight Moon.

He does fall asleep MOTN nursing though.
DH gets basically no snuggles
A baby that wants to sleep in a crib without a boob in the mouth sounds amazing. I tried breaking him of nursing to sleep. I think it's only going to happen when I fully wean him and then I may have to leave the house for bedtime.
At least he sleeps pretty well once he's asleep at night.

It's a phase that comes and goes with him. MOTN there's no settling without nursing though.

Same here. It's tough to be the only one who can get them back down.

DS went through a phase where he was waking at 1230, 3, and 5 but wouldn't eat at 1230. I would just rock him and he'd go back to sleep. So I started sending DH in at 1230 but he couldn't get DS to stay asleep when he laid him in the crib. So DH would get up at 1230, be up until 130 or 2 after multiple times of DS waking crying, then I'd have to feed the baby because he'd worked up an appetite waking up and falling asleep and waking up and crying.
So I took back all the MOTN wake ups. I nurse DS because it's easier. Now he only wakes 1-2x a night but nurses each time. Oh well. Whatever. I'm thankful for the four months of STTN we got; it's a lot more than some of you ladies.
I started a bullet journal thanks to the planner thread on parenting.
Thank you for pushing me down that rabbit hole. I will now be heading to target tomorrow for a new journal. I've been looking for a new system and I'm hoping this will be it.

Haha you're welcome / sorry? I already had a grid paper leather bound journal that had been languishing in a drawer waiting for me to start journaling again, so I got to start right away One week in & it's pretty darn awesome. I like the flexibility.

I'm not much of a writer and the flexibility kind of scares me a little lol. I'm one of those that likes things to be just so when I'm writing in my planner. Now that I'm not working I need something more fluid to gather lists and such all in one place. I'm really hoping I like it and actually stick with it.
Before I start my rant, I should mention that way back in July I told DH that he needed to tell mil that we already have DS's thanksgiving outfit. I actually told him a few times when she would buy him clothes (all the time).
Yesterday was my niece's birthday party. At the end, mil came in and handed DH an outfit. I knew what it was right away. She said, "he can wear it for Thanksgiving". I then said (not in a mean tone), "oh he already has an outfit." She then went to snatch it back saying that she'll return it. DH held on to it saying that it was okay. He also gave me a nasty look and said he'll hear about it because she'll be mad.
SIL said MIL was probably upset with her. My question was, this is her granddaughter's birthday - why is she getting upset about anything?
So then later last night mil texts DH saying, "bring it back and I'll return it. That really hurt my feelings" and something else. DH asked where it was and I said I already took the tags off and was washing it. I said that maybe he can wear it that Friday or something.
