Sangria with your Taco Bell? (also drinking thread)

So apparently Taco Bell is going to be opening some "Cantinas" in Chicago and San Francisco that will serve beer, wine and sangria along with "tapas-style" appetizers.

First I'm laughing at the little ad that's pictured - one side is sort of this classy ad with a picture of some classy beer glasses, the other half is your typical Taco Bell ad with their cheesy little frozen drink cups.

But also - I'm not clear on whether this is like a normal Taco Bell with alcohol or whether it's a totally different type of restaurant.

Thoughts? Also, tell me what you're drinking tonight so I can live vicariously through you while I sit through HOA meetings.

Chicago!?!? Hell yes! Only a 2.5 hour drive for me!

I'm still trying to decide what to drink. Probably beer, but wine also sounds good at this point.

I really don't care. I don't like taco bell (anymore at least- I don't eat any day food except maybe a few times a year) and adding a bar will not make me like it anymore.

I was hoping they would test it here. I am in Columbus which is a common test market for new products. I think those frozen alcoholic drinks look amazing! I will have one of those with a side of 10 crunchy tacos please.

I'm sort of into booze with my Taco Bell. I rarely eat fast food but TB is a guilty pleasure occasionally...with some booze? Yes please!
I'm going to date night with H but don't know where we are going...I hope there is wine, though (or margaritas, ha)

Taco Bell was typically my 2am, college drunk food (that, and Jack in the Box). So I'm thinking that serving booze at Taco Bell would make the 2am drunk food runs even more interesting. It would be like serving beer at IHOP.

I'm temporarily running the after-school program (with 140 5-7 year olds) at my work, so I won't get home until after 7:00, and I'm guessing by that time I'll need some wine. I may have to stop at the store on my way home.

I just wonder about the whole taking your drink to go with you?? I rarely go to Taco Bell and am even less likely to stay and eat there.

Bike ride tonight but probably beer after. DH is on a beer a night right now. He rarely drank until a week ago.

I'm cooking BBQ chicken wraps for dinner tonight. I used Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce for the first time. I know some people on here said it's real good, so we'll see.

Beer at an IHOP made me think of this open-all-night diner in my city (we're a university town) that has a bar in it. It is the last stop on many pub crawls, because it's one of the last places open that serves real food. Most of the fast food places around here are far from the bar scene and only have their drive-thrus open at night.

FFWC? I love Taco Bell.Every now and then before I go grocery shopping I'll stop at the TB right across the street from the store, and get one of those $5 boxes. And stuff my face. No shame.

If the TB near us started serving alcohol I think DH and I would end up there for cheap dinners a disgusting amount.

I read about this a month or so ago. Alcohol + Cool Ranch Doritos tacos is probably one of the best ideas I've ever heard.

Hmm.. I live near SF. This could be another reason to go into the city more frequently.

I should not stop for stuff on my way home on a day where "lunch" was a handful of cashews and 2 string cheeses.

I went in for a salad mix. I came out with no salad (the market was out), a bag of crispy M&Ms, a package of cookies and a wild cherry Pepsi.
