DD tried to kill herself tonight. DH is on his way with her to the hospital right now. We've been letting her go to school and work since she had been open and honest with us. We woke up to her throwing up after taking a bottle of Tylenol pm. She's been sleeping in our room. The good thing is, she was coherent enough to tell DH what she took and I was able to find the bottle (along with today's receipt) in her trash. We had locked up all medication, thinking that was enough. She will be okay, but the place she is in is so dark. Please keep her in your thoughts. Me too please. I'm really not handling this well.

5:15 am - Thank you ladies. DH and I haven't talked to anyone about DD, so I can't tell you how much I appreciate you ladies allowing me to lean on you all.
DH said the test results will be back in about an hour. The doctor told him she will likely be admitted to the hospital so they can flush her system and get her medically stable. Once she is stable they will have a psychiatrist in to see her. She is currently in the ER and DH is in her room with her and they have a guard to watch her too.

6 am- the 1st tests came in and they decided to admit her now. They are setting her up on a 16 hour drip of one medication then 6 hours of another. They will reevaluate her later today. So far her liver function is okay, but the levels are dangerously high and that can cause her liver to fail. DH mentioned something about ALT and AST, but he seemed a little unsure and my head is spinning, so I'm really unsure on what they're referring to when they say "levels". She won't see a psychiatrist for at least 24 hours since she's not medically stable yet.

8pm- sorry for the delay in an update. I appreciate you all. It's been a pretty crappy day, but she doing okay. She's groggy and feeling numb. She smiles some and sheds the occasional year, but it's mostly numbness. Once they get her liver levels down they want to transfer her ribs psych unit. She's 19, so she has to sign off on that. She's been going back and forth with it and DH and I are pushing her to do it. DH is staying with her for now until they transfer it and I'm struggling to be okay with it. I know it's the right thing, but I'm not in a great place and have been having done acidity issues and this has kinda pushed me over the edge. So it'll be a long night guff me and Allison. I just have to dry my test long enough to get DS from football practice to home. I hope that all makes sense. I'll update more tomorrow after they rerun her tests. We'll have more of an idea how long it'll be before they transfer her. Thank you again ladies
9am- DH just texted and said labs came back and her liver is in normal range. So they are starting a new in med to complete the flushing of her system and hopefully we can get the ball rolling on getting her better emotionally. Allison and I are getting ready to go back to the hospital. My amazing 8 week old made her big sis a picture (there is no color to the room, nothing on the walls, nada.) We hope she likes it.
So it's been an eventful day. Once Allison and I got to the hospital they announced she was being transferred to a psych unit! Yay for the 72 hour hold. She was really scared, but we tried our best to reassure her. DH rode in the ambulance with her and I went and bought her a couple clean outfits and new underwear. She's at a facility in Downtown Los Angeles which isn't terribly far from us, but far enough and traffic is a nightmare. We are allowed to visit her from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, with no kids. One hour a day is not long, but at least she will be kept busy with groups and therapy and all sorts of stuff that will help her.

9/25- 9:15 pm
We just left the hospital. She has agreed to stay on her own past her 72 hour hold. We are so happy! She is on 3 new medications, an antidepressant, mood stabilizer and a tranquilizer. She doesn't remember any of the names right now though. They believe she is bipolar and depressed, but have not given her an official diagnosis yet. The psychiatric did say she may get out as early as Monday. She says she's feeling a lot better, but isn't quite ready to be out. Thank you everyone for keeping us in your thoughts. You're all amazing.

She's being released today. I'm not sure she's ready. What I mean is, I think she's ready, but not sure they've fine tuned her medication enough. DH is at a concert tonight, so I'm here picking her up with Allison, DS and DSS. Wish me luck ladies.
