I went out and bought a new scale just for this...lol. Our digital scale broke years ago and we just had an old mechanical scale. Since it recommends a digital scale and I hate the scale we had, I figured now was the time to buy one.
Seems like a good reason to get a scale you like. I hated having to recal the mechanical scale every time I moved it for cleaning or because whoever I was living with moved it.
Hey guys. I've been MIA because I was on vacation (and ate all the food while there). I did weigh in on Monday and am excited to get going with being more active and eating a bit better. Yay!
I got the email this morning and immediately felt like "Fuuuuuuuhhhhh..." But I'm happy that I finally will have a chance to get back into my "real" clothes. Because, you know, doing it on my own was never an actual option.
ETA: I may have also told my husband that eating an entire box of sugar cereal this weekend was "just part of my strategy".
I'm up 6lbs after our vacation and visit with all the grandparents. FML. I'm hoping it's just bloat, but we ate terribly the whole trip and had severe sleep deprivation due to the time difference and logistics of the trip and the wedding. I'm exhausted.
Time to get back on track. I downloaded the loseit app so hopefully that will help me track what I'm eating. I need so many fruits and vegetables today.
seamonster - I bet you the 6lb will drop quickly. We went away for a weekend and I was up 4lb and that went away within 1 week without much effort.
So I've just been trying to eat better which I have been doing pretty well with. I've been having so much trouble trying to fit in workouts though. I may start trying to run with DD in the jogging stroller right after her morning bottle. We will see how that goes. That definitely won't be the plan today though. She slept terribly last night!
I hurt my foot last Thursday night at work and DD has been sleeping terribly so I haven't been able (or willing) to get much exercise in. So far I've just been eating better so hopefully I'm not totally screwed this month.
ETA- I haven't gotten back on the scale since the initial weigh in.

I'm aiming to do 30 minutes of cardio 6x a week and add yoga in on the 7th day. So far...the first week has gone great despite being sick. I've lost 4 pounds.
I'm maintaining my no snacking rule and planning meals every night, except Friday. We have pizza on Fridays the hardest part for me is sweets. I need sugar detox.
Oh--also the booze. Is anyone cutting out drinking? I'm Russian...I honestly just love the taste of alcohol. My sister is the same way. She is also trying to loose weight and when I asked her she said she is now putting diet tonic in her vodka. Lol. I'm using it as a reward for myself but I should cut back.
mrsclark731 I need to join you on a sugar detox. I can't say no to it, and I have some sort of sweet every day. Last night I skipped dinner but ate three brownies. Oops.
I am also cutting out booze for the most part. I'm imposing a 2 drink/week max. When I was losing weight for my wedding a few years ago I cut it out completely and it made such a huge difference that I will do it now also.

I'm down to my goal weight, but I also lost five pounds in 24 hours thanks to the fact I couldn't keep anything down. I'm sure now that I'm transitioning back to solids, that will change. I'm planning to keep it light this week with walking and just trying to eat balanced, vitamin packed food. Also, drinking only Friday and Saturday!
I have had deceptive weight loss. The night of the start of the diet bet was day 3 of Period. So it seems like I lost a lot so far, but it's mostly just water/bloat/general period nasty weight.

Ugh. My 'runner's knee' is f'in killing me!! I'm still doing an intense 30 minutes of cardio but all rowing--no running--and the pain still isn't letting up! I'm hoping by the end of the week I can start running again....anyone else experiencing set backs?

Does my anniversary and thanksgiving count as set backs? Remember how I said I was cutting our alcohol? I drank every. damn. day. last week. Oops.
I don't know what I did to my foot but it's finally starting to feel better. Im looking forward to some nice chilly days to take long walks. I might also break out my pregnancy PiYo DVD. Working nights, it's hard for me to be motivated to much of anything.

I know the feeling about working off hours and the chronic tiredness. I'm impressed you're getting anything in. I rarely did when I worked night shift and I didn't even have a baby then!

It does help that probably 8-10 hours out of my 12 hour shift is spent walking or standing.

Haven't weighed myself yet, but was just about to write this post. My parents are NOT diet friendly people. Plus Babygirl is in a wonderf@ck, and essentially hasn't slept for more than an hour at a time in over a week. So I decided that eating all the cookies was the only way I would survive. Also I'm pretending that round the clock nursing counts as exercise. My clothing begs to differ.
But! I'm home now and ready to start working out and eating right. Hope I can still make goal by the end of the month, but if I can't, I'll at least get in two weeks of better habits. Right???
Okay, so I posted that before some idiot brought dozens of donuts and left them in front of my workspace. I may have eaten four. But I didn't have lunch or any snacks. Because I have self discipline.
seamonster, have you tried myfitnesspal? It's the only tracker I've found that I will actually use for more than one meal...
I haven't. I might give it a chance.
Donuts sound delicious.
I really only gained 3lbs on our trip and the other 3 were bloat. I have not been able to shed those pounds. And as excited as I was that DS was down to 1 wake up, that is back to 2 or 3 and I need to pump at night to make up for a milk shortfall every day (I need to drop to 3 pumps at work. Every 2 hours meant no work done). I just want to eat all the chocolate now.
I have no idea if this will hold true for you, but when I switched from pumping every two hours to pumping every three, my overall volume actually increased by a couple of ounces. I nurse babygirl about 1.5/ hours prior to leaving the house, do a really long pump (30 mins) on my commute, then pump twice more at the office. I was also pumping on the drive home, but found I could drop that one and be fine on my supply. I have to stick pretty religiously to the schedule for my 9 am and noon pumps, and it took about a week for the volume to come up to what I needed. I don't know If pumping less/less frequently just lowered my stress and led to better production, or if my boobs need more time to "refill". But it's worked out so far.
