Uneventful day here. Bringing DD to my parents house to hang out and catch the game. We don't have cable, so it's a good excuse to kill two birds so to speak. .
DH is working on our front decks. We splurged for mahogany.
Anyone have quick baking advice? I have to leave for church in 15 minutes, and I'm supposed to bring a cake for the annual cake walk. But I just took it out of the oven 5 minutes ago. Will it be too warm to ice in another 5 minutes or so? Any ideas on how to make sure the icing doesn't melt?
Warm up the icing and drizzle over top. It will be more of a glaze but it will look intentional.

It's probably too late now, but could you ice it there? Like right before the cake walk starts?
Thats what I ended up doing. It was cooled down enough by the time we got there.

We were at the neighbor's yesterday evening for a few beers and burgers. I brought DS home around 8:30 cuz...well bedtime. H said he'd be home soon. At 2 fucking o'clock he comes crashing into the house, pisses all over the fucking bathroom, passes out, just general drunk as fuck. I was awake all night so incredibly pissed off. I stripped off our sheets already this morning cuz they smelled like piss and beer and threw a blanket from the couch at him. He's still up there out cold.
Is it wrong to think that he's too fucking old for this shit? DS is eating tootsie rolls and a pear for breakfast cuz he slept through all of that and I'm still half asleep ugh.
Did he literally piss all over the bathroom and all over himself? If yes, then I would be furious. But if he just got drunk and peed on the toilet seat? Meh, I wouldn't really care. Maybe I would feel different if I had a small child to take care of but I think everyone deserves to get sloppy drunk once in awhile.

This sounds amazing. H and I are doing a lazy couch day watching the game and making buffalo wings. I'm enjoying my first pumpkin beer of the season, too. I have to get up crazy early tomorrow so my plan is to pass out around 9pm...I'm thinking beers at 1:30 should help...

I'm watching the CBS Sunday Morning from today and they are doing a story on millenials. They still insist that the millenial generation starts at 1981. That is insane. I am 33, I do not identify with the millenials.
I think there are only 2 or 3 of them that don't apply for me, but some crazy places insist is started in 77... I totally hear ya, there is no way I am a millennial, but Gen X is a stretch also.

We have a German Shorthaired Pointer. She's my avatar. And basically the best.

We have two labs that we bird hunt with. Our yellow lab is 11, and she is pretty much retired. Our 4 years old black lab is really just getting started. She and H are going duck hunting this weekend. H used to have a GSP, and he said she was a phenomenal bird dog. Do you hunt?

gabride2010: I do hunt, but a lot less now that DS is around.
Our buddy has a lab and takes him out goose hunting a lot. He and H want to take our GSP, no question she could do it and would love it, but she's pretty petite and gets cold really quickly in the water. It's crazy how good of a bird dog she is though. And how much natural ability they have without any kind of formal training. DH ran ours in the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Natural Ability Test when she was barely 6 months old. She prized and the judges were pretty impressed with how well she did given how young she was.

No there was def pee other places than the toilet. Between his and DS a little mess is the norm so, yea.
