My husband and I have three kids, two girls and a boy. Their names aren't unique at all. I am expecting our fourth and we have picked Jonathon as a boy's name, which seems to fall right in line with the rest of the kids' names.
DH wants the girl's name to be Alexandra. So...is matching a sibset crucial, or would the nn Alex flow well enough with three rather common sibling names?
What are the other kids' names? I don't consider Alexandra that much more unique/rare than Jonathan, honestly. Both are great names, FWIW, I think you are overthinking it.
Totally agree with ilovelucyv. Alexandra nn Alex is not unusual enough to sound out of place with 'normal' kids names. It's not like you're doing the super trendy Hadley/Harper thing or anything super flowery like Guinnevre.
I agree Alexandra is pretty normal nearing classic. I think it falls in line with Jonathan. Not knowing your other childrens name and just off Jonathan it's fine. I really like Alexandra.

Alexandra and Jonathan are both nice, normal names. I personally prefer the nn Alexa for Alexandra but I don't think Alex seems too out there. Plus I hate to choose names based purely on a nn because those frequently change once the baby is actually here.
Don't overthink it. Alexandra is a perfectly normal name and is just as normal as Jonathan is. If your other kids' names are just as normal, I would think it would fit in fine.
