tessymessy - you're not bringing the Randoms down. This is what we are here for, to support each other. And who better to understand than this group of ladies? We're here for you (((hugs)))
bookshelves - that's a really tough situation, and I would be struggling with it, too. Ultimately, even though it comes from a place of love and excitement, she is overstepping her boundaries by picking out any "first" or special occasion outfits. She already had that opportunity with her children. And it's not all that bighearted to whine about how, or if, you use a gift. Im sure her actions are not mal intended, but it sounds like you might need to set a precedent before it becomes a bigger issue/battle later on down the line. I'm glad your DH will back you. I get the guilt, self-imposed or otherwise, I deal with this A LOT with my MIL, as well. GL!!

Happy birthday, @elf828, Dreaming and codypup babies! I cannot believe you're all one!
tessymessy so many ((hugs)) for you today. Those appointments are unpleasant at best. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you're back to normal levels so you can be done with them.
armfruit I'm so sorry you're having a hard morning. Hope the day gets better for you.
bookshelves Dinner outfit is brilliant. I'm so glad you'll get to have your intended clothes on LO for the party. Now maybe MIL will back up.
I'm in a weird lull this morning where I have to wait for other people so I can move forward on projects. Love that it let me fully catch up on today's randoms. And I just realized that tomorrow, all of the people who were making me crazy earlier this week will be on four hour flights, so it *should* be slow tomorrow too.

Also, forgive me if this has been posted in a previous random. (If it has, let me know and this post will poof into a gif.) But has anyone seen Quinoa, the imaginary well-dressed toddler? Because I just laughed my face off. miwdtd.tumblr.com/

I love Quinoa! I've been slacking on checking Pinterest lately, but always love when she posts. Cracks me up. Thanks for the reminder!!

Way behind but jumping in to say, tessymessy - I am so sorry. I have been there. It is so hard to go back over and over when you are just trying to move forward. ((Hugs))
LO is making short work of our muffin. There's a little play area in the cafe, but there are some hipsters sitting there watching the price is right. Not sure if LO cruising around is their idea of fun.

(Still pages behind) bookshelves - Can you 'save it' for some one year photos. Tell her you already had something else, and this way it won't get cake or anything on it and will be perfect for her one year photo shoot. Then take one picture just for MIL?
The one day I might actually be able to keep up with the randoms and my phone keeps eating my posts. (Or it could my lack of mobile skillz.)
Anyway, good morning-almost-afternoon! I'm at home with W today because our sitter is sick. I don't have a ton of vacation time but I'm excited to hang out with him for more than 2 hours today. We have big plans of breaking in his new snow suit that MIL gave him for Christmas. We only have a couple inches of an icy mess here, but I'm worried we won't be able to use it much longer. I'm slightly jealous of all the snow in the northeast, although 3 feet is insane and dangerous. But it's so pretty!
Happiest birthday to some of our 1 year olds! The pics are great. And Dreaming, your kitchen (and your DD) is beautiful!

hugs tessymessy. That sucks. I'll never forget when I was a fresh student and I went to go take x-rays in the ER and asked 'why are you here today' to someone who was there because of a suicide attempt. I felt like such a damned moron, the tech schooled me hard after that, hopefully you're the last person that student says something dumb an insensitive to.
codypup - can you download a noise generator app on your phone instead of lugging your noise machine? You'll look less weird that way. Also- OMG babypup at DC. Ha!
shellbell - TP to that woman. What a stupid twatwaffle!
I'm lucky to be alive. I should not have driven into work... that was a really incredibly dumb thing to do. I was dozing off and kept catching myself. I'm so not proud of that. I wish I had enough actual time off that if I had called in today it wouldn't have been a big fat stinking deal. But I'm already on warnings for my call ins (because baby who is always sick). The circumstances of life are too much to handle some days. But I definitely wasn't making good decisions at 6am today.
I got to work and took a 2 hour nap at my desk though. I'm such a professional. I feel a LOT better now though.

codypup Were they singing? Does she hate singing? Poor W but I love this picture.
shellbell WTH.. Please tell me you had a snappy comeback like, "Are you lost?? This is not your grandchild" or look around and say, "Grandma is here?!?!?"
LO is making short work of our muffin. There's a little play area in the cafe, but there are some hipsters sitting there watching the price is right. Not sure if LO cruising around is their idea of fun.
My hipster friends love to baby sit LO. They just have to act like they don't care or are bored. That's what hipsters do.
Do they watch Price is Right while babysitting? So ironically cool. If you're into that kind of thing. Which they aren't, because it's SO mainstream. Price is Right totally is a sell out. They liked it before it was on TV.

Obviously they listen to NPR...
A Prairie Home Companion while sipping PBR and admiring each others' state tattoos. ETA: My roller derby history means I've had many a hipster run-in.
Why can't I understand baby shoes?! LO has about 5 pairs of shoes that are too big for him. I just ordered some Robeez and was feeling mighty proud of myself and I get them in and they are still too big. So, now he has 7 pairs he can't wear yet. MOTY.
Apparently, LO has extremely small feet for his age. Maybe I will get a brain and measure his feet when I get home.
