crawford411 that's how Alex was. The pedi acted like spitting up wasn't a big deal, even when I told her it was enough to soak h's shirt. But because he didn't do it after every bottle and he was gaining weight, she was hesitant to prescribe. Zantac didn't do the trick and now he's on omperazole. I hope you can get her on an antacid soon!
Did you find that the omeprazole helped with the volume of spit up? I ask because antacids have not been shown to significantly prevent spit up, they just decrease the discomfort.
That being said, you wouldn't be the first person to tell me that you feel it reduced the amount of spit up. I'm curious about the mechanism too - I wonder if baby is more likely to re-swallow if it doesn't hurt...or maybe because Prilosec is an antisecretory it reduces total volume of gastric juices making spit up less likely...? Science gals do yoit have any idea here.
Thats what she's in... I wrap her tight and she still wiggles her arms up by her face.
DD used to do this all the time, it was like she had no control over her hands. Have you ever seen the movie idle hands? Cause it kind of looks like that. They would just creep up from her swaddle while she was fast asleep and attack her face and wake her up. I had to stop swaddling, even though she sleeps better that way. Her startle reflex isn't completely gone yet but she is sleeping better arms out. We use a halo sleep sack too.
Oh man, Idle Hands! My two 90s crushes, Devon Sawa and Seth Green, were in that movie! I loved that shit in 8th grade.
So we have this giraffe that plays music and the stomach lights up. DD loves staring at the light but it only stays on for like two minutes. Once it goes off she screams. Does anyone know of something with a light that stays on longer? Are these the things that get too hot and start on fire?
We have the Twilight Turtle by Cloud b. It stays on 45 minutes. I use it now to see what I'm doing at night without waking baby up too much but it seems so cute and cuddly I imagine it will be a big hit with E when he's a toddler.

I should have mentioned before I've seen one called Twilight Turtle Tunes I guess plays music as well if that's important.

I've been thinking about getting one of these for DD1. I think she'd love it.
I'm totally all bitch eating crackers when it comes to Jeremy's mom commenting on my fb pics. She is just a fun sucker. Things like I put up a pic of Alex on a towel that has a beach scene printed on it and made a joke about first trip to the beach. She comments with "that's not the beach, it's just a towel. Beaches have sand." Agh!!! Or a pic of dd2's Barbie car jokingly offering rides, "that car really isn't mea t for people. You guys have a real car, right?"
Hell, her comment on a pic this morning wasn't even that bad, but still made my eye twitch. It's a pic of alex wearing Jeremy's sun glasses, captioned "too cool for the grocery store." And her only comment? "Jeremy's glasses!" See? Not awful, but stop sucking all the fun!!

If she seems happy with her hands free and sucking on her hands and if she isn't crying or seeming upset/keeping you up. I would just swaddle hands out and let her suck on her fingers.
This is what we did, we let her suck on her hands. I read that it is part of self soothing? I think its completely natural, don't fight it.
I let her during the day. But when it made her wake up and fuss my first instinct was to stop it. Lol

Whenever I do 30DS I wonder if Jillian wants Anita's abs, and if there's a reason she doesn't have better abs.. considering she works out 24.7, do you think she doesn't want abs like anita's, or that she just can't get them?
My rainbow arrived 10/15/14.
5 cycles of "TTC" - 3 intentional, 2 not so intentional. 5 BFPs.
TFMC 08.02.13 at 19+ weeks. Everyday I grieve for my little Olive.

This is good to hear - I just ordered the twilight fox.

Good questions. Like no matter what I do my abs will never look like some of those people's. Oh well, guess I will eat some more cake.

have you noticed she is hungry when she does that? DD wakes up and fusses and chews on her hands when she is hungry. I feed her and she goes right back down. Its like she things she is going to get milk out of her hands or something! She isn't always hungry when she does this during the day, but at night it most definitely is a sign for us that it is time to eat!
So this morning H and I decided we cannot put DD back in the RNP at night and the crib must happen. Last night she started sliding down and her legs were hanging over the bottom of the RNP. This morning I was watching her on the monitor and when she kicked and wiggled, she looked like she was going to roll right out. I didn't think it would happen this soon and thought with how deep the bassinet seemed to be, we would be ok.... Nope wrong. Sigh. Hopefully she will get used to the crib damn fast!
@irobi13 - I will never have those abs either Probably TMI - but after you lose 160lbs, your skin isn't exactly the same. I like to just think I get less "jiggly" when my abs are in good shape.
So I forgot half my pump parts at home. Dh is bringing them to me but I'm missing my morning pump and won't be able to pump until noon now. Hope my boobs don't explode in class!!!

Poor LO has a cold plus her usual gassiness. She is spitting up everywhere and it is super mucousy. Her belly keeps contracting and she has a hard time staying asleep. Poor babe.
Haha. Obviously my 14 year old self was not picky.
have you seen the video of him on the talk show where he seemingly picks his nose and then 5 seconds later sneakily puts the booger in his mouth? Still find him hot? Lol

Super mucousy spit up if she has a cold - normal?
Normal as long as she's peeing OK. but keep watching her belly. If she's belly breathing even when she's calm (like when she's in your arms), or if you notice her nostrils flaring, or the skin pulling in around her ribs you might want to call the pedi.
