21 months and still not licensed

Even though we've changed our plans (DCF doesn't know that) for now, it still irritates me that it has taken this long. We are so put off by how disorganized and ridiculous this process has been. Our friends also finished their training class shortly after we did, and a few weeks ago DCF told them they couldn't find any record of them completing the class, when they are the ones who issued the completion certificates! I get that they are grossly underfunded and understaffed, but really??

We still want to be licensed in case we have T-TTC, and I seriously wonder if it will ever happen. At this point it feels like it's not. I never could have imagined that after 21 months, we still would not be licensed. It's pretty sad, really.

I had kind of similar issue with my first agency, which was state funded, and as soon as I noticed they werent meeting my expectations I moved on and found another agency, which is private. In 3 months I got my license! Is it an option for yiu to just leave this agency and go to a different one? You can transfer all paperwork you have done so far so it wouldnt really be a huge step back...

We have decided to TTC #3 and put the foster-to-adopt on hold for now, so it's not something we would pursue at this point. It's just been an extremely frustrating process, and we honestly don't want to have to go through it again.

Well, you follow your heart and that will lead you to the right place rather is foster to adopt or having a biological child.

21 months is a LOT of time, and it seems like such a shame. It took us 11 months, but at times felt like an eternity. It made me mad/sad that there were kids out their in need of a home, but they didn't get it because of someone else's inefficiency.

I hope all moves along well with TTC and this is just a blip on the radar in the future!
