Guise I'm so close to no longer being a n00b and don't have to be at work for three more hours. So ask me something? I will be answering anything and everything from now until I have to be at work...and then I'll probably be distracted.
We met in grad School. We were both working as Assistant Hall Directors in different areas on campus. Our "areas" were competing against each other for some stupid Res Life thing and he and I ended up playing rock paper scissors together. That night the senior staff all went out and I bought him a beer. The rest is history.
As a fellow Masshole, what is your favorite thing about living here?
Its funny you ask because I'm not sure that MA is my forever home! But proximity to my family is the biggest thing. I also LOVE NE sports. And I have a big soft spot for the cape, especially way down the Cape like Wellfleet and Truro.
Also there's something to be said for a city that's so big on education and health care, especially because I work in health care. Sometimes I take it for granted that I work in conjunction with some of the best hospitals in the world.
If you were to rename yourself, what would you choose?
Like IRL or on PB?
IRL I would probably choose a classic name. I've always thought that if I needed a pen name or a fake name I'd pick something like Evelyn.
PB I have no stinking clue. As it is I'm recycling my old AIM screen name from high school. I had a blog way back in the day that I called BOS2LAX because at the time I had moved to Southern California to get to know my ILs a little better. So maybe that.
I have an unhealthy obsession with HGTV. I keep telling myself that I'm learning valuable info for when I buy a house someday but no. I really just love looking at pretty houses.
It's cliche, but my wedding gown. We got married on a 93 degree day on a beach so it was totally inappropriate for the occasion (heavy gown, beadwork, etc.) but I just loved it.

Ha, me, too! I can seriously watch that channel all day long. I already own a house, so I have no other excuse than pure voyeurism. I love seeing other people's homes.
I also get the HGTV magazine--I'm a little obsessed.

Same. It drives DH crazy, he thinks it's depressing because we don't have a house yet. But then he watches shows about super cars so what's the difference?
Here's my question, even though you don't need anymore.
If you could move to anywhere in the world where would you want to live? Or would you rather stay where you are?

Good question because we're actually asking ourselves the same thing. I loved living in California, so we've talked about moving back there. We also both have a soft spot for Boulder, CO. But we've actually been seriously talking about living abroad in either Switzerland, France, or Germany. DH lived in Germany a while and would love to teach in an international school. I just love the idea of living in another country and giving that experience to DD/future children. So time will tell!
It's ironic that I love HGTV because in all honesty I will probably never own a house. Too much student loans and I love moving around too much!
