So the past few nights Freya has been super fussy/all out screaming in the evening. Starting around 6/6:30-10:30/11. It's awful. I can't remember Dagny being like this but my mind may have just blocked it out. She'll nurse but as soon as she's almost asleep she pops off & just starts screaming. Same with the pacifier - it'll calm her down for a minute but then she pushes it out & starts screaming. I can't tell if it's just normal witching hour fussiness or if it's colic. Can you even do anything for colic?
I'm not sure this rambling makes much sense...I'm tired.
Have you tried gripe water/gas drops? Kayleigh used to get like that in the evenings. It was like clockwork. She'd start screaming, you'd look at the clock, and it would be 7pm. She seemed to get really gassy in the evenings. We found the gripe water really helped her out. We would give her a dose and you could actually hear her belly gurgle and then she would calm down really quickly. Although, it may not be the case with Freya at all.
Henry was like this and he ended up having really bad reflux issues. Nursing helped him because it was soothing the issue but then as soon as he would stop he would start screaming again. Not saying that is the issue with Freya but just a thought. Also, I would wear him a ton because he wanted to be held all the time too.
I was going to suggest baby wearing. It sounds more like witching hour than colic since colic would be more throughout the entire day and night. When Eliza was little I had to wear her to cook and even get the simplest things done in the evening. Or maybe go for a walk for a change of scenery. Eliza has always been calmed when we go outside.
I also suggest going outside. I'm going to have to get William a heavy coat so we can still venture outside. And also gas drops. They definitely help him and he tends to be like this from 7-9 so around the same time. It is getting better though. My guess is that it is something belly related mixed with the over stimulation (witching hour) of the day. I'm sorry, it is rough when you don't know what to do and they won't stop crying.
Thanks ladies. We've done gas drops but maybe I'll give gripe water a try. I have a K'atan but she's not a huge fan. I'll give the Ergo a try. I haven't really been going outside but mostly because I've been recovering from my csection and by the end of the day I'm still pretty sore so not really up to going outside.
I might ask about reflux at her 1 month appointment- she doesn't really spit up but she gets the hiccups a lot. And she does tend to cry a little after each feed unless she falls asleep.
I swear by the gripe water. Gas drops did not work at all for Kayleigh but the gripe water made a world of difference. My H calls it magic in a bottle.

Try the happi tummi wrap. It's a wrap that you warm in the microwave and put in a pouch and it velcros around baby's tummy. It was a life saver with both my girls. Another option is a hot water bottle and have her lay on top of it, but the wrap is much easier.
You can also try gripe water and gas drops. That phase is so hard. Hugs momma!
