I was told baths are fine but nothing with scents added to it and warm, not super hot water. That being said the thought of getting myself out of a tub without help does not sound fun right now.
When does the feet swelling stop? Mine is better as of today but not gone. I have a feeling it's because he hates to stop moving so we do a lot of walking around. He also hates it when I recline back while bf.
And would I be crazy to go on a walk (maybe a half to one mile) around a week pp?
I agree to just listen to your body. Hubby and I didn't want to miss out on the Texas State Fair, so we went last Monday (6 days PP) with both babies. It sounds crazy to do anything like that so soon, but I felt good and just didn't overdo it.

I'm hoping to make it there next year
We went last year the week before Sugar was born, so this year I realized how insane and hilarious it was that last year we had 0 outside babies when we went...and this year we had 2 outside babies.
Maybe if you're able to make the trip next year, we could actually meet up? I think Olive might have a thing for boys named Kaemon who share a birthday with her.

Sounds like a plan! Isn't it funny how I totally called us going into labor on the same day!?

Yes! I really didn't think it would likely happen, so I was completely shocked when I realized they would be born the same day! Incredible.

:::waves hi::: I'd love to meet up too! I don't miss the fair for anything!!! I went on Sept 26th, 11 days before my due date!

Ha! The waving kills me. That would be awesome if we could all meet up, katie0919!! And, what better place is there than the fair?! We've been every year since moving here in 2011, including going on the TX and OU game day in 2013. I didn't believe people about the kind of nightmare that would be... The level of absurdity was eye opening. Having a huge college football game in the midst of a state fair where alcohol is served in abundance is such a ridiculous idea. So as long as we don't go THAT day, I'm all about a Texas O15 BMB meet up!

I haven't been yet, sounds like I might need to make a trip to Dallas (is that where it is?)

Yes! It's at Fair Park where the Cotton Bowl Stadium is...basically on the east side of downtown Dallas off of I-30. It starts about the middle of September and lasts for 4 weeks until the middle of October. We love going! The best times to go to save on money is Tuesday through Thursday. You can get in for $4-6 if you bring whatever item it is for that day (soda can, soda bottle, canned goods). Otherwise, admission is $18 for adults, plus $15 for parking. You can reuse the coupons for rides, foods, drinks, etc. every year if you have any leftover though.
So this isn't really a care question just a question. For those of you who have had c sections did you have back spasms after. I had a spinal with mine and since I have gotten back spasms. It has been four weeks since my section now and I don't get as many back spasms. I had a really bad one today. Sometimes they radiate all the way up into my neck and my whole body jerks. Just wondering if this is something that happens after a spinal or if it is something wrong with my back.

Oh my goodness! That sounds awful. I just had my csection yesterday and it was my second one, had one with DS also. I had the epidural for both though, didn't have a spinal (I think the difference is with the epidural you have the cathedar thing running out of your back and with a spinal you don't? Anyway, I haven't experienced that but I think it's definitely worth a call to you doc just to make sure? It sounds like it might be a typical complaint but I am surely no doc. Hope it feels better asap!!
Just one but I'm considering trying two. One doesn't seem to be helping as much as I'd like.
When did you start taking them? I had my csection about 36 hrs ago and haven't started any yet but did bring it up to my nurse bc I heard it's a good idea (don't think I took them last time)
For those who had c sections: how long did you bleed after?
You probably won't like the answer but I bled off and on for about 12-13 weeks! I just had my second c on Tuesday and my nurse seemed shocked when I told her that and said it's usually only 30 days. A lot of mine wasn't blood per se, but just clear or white leukorrhea (sp?). And it would stop for a week or two at a time and then start up again. Overall it really wasn't horrible, just unpredictable. Then once done, exclusive breastfeeding for a year kept my period away for about 9 months postpartum (hooray! That was awesome)
ETA: how are you feeling after the c? My first c that I had after 24 hrs of labor definitely hurt worse than the planned one I am currently recovering from but I had a terrible time keeping up with my pain meds on the first one. That part is going much better this time! So keep up the drugs! Lol. Hope you're enjoying baby cabbage.
@boxerific and link7913 you've given me hope. Cannot wait to sleep on my stomach!
How many days out are you? I felt a ton better after 3-5 days. I am still not back to normal at 3 weeks, but feel really good overall. I remember feeling like I would never get past the pain early on.
I haven't tried sleeping on my stomach... I'm 3 weeks out and still too nervous. But, maybe for good reason? The right side of my incision is still partially open. Ugh.
I just got my abdominal binder from Amazon, and I'm not sure if I'm wearing it right. I feel dumb, but I don't know where exactly to put it! And it doesn't feel particularly tight, but it does make it a little harder to breathe. I really wanted to wear it 24/7 for a while, but I'm not loving it so far.
I put mine low on my hips. Basically it covers my hips (kind of where my hip bones are) and my lower tummy (like around my belly button). It does ride up some throughout the day when I sit and stand, so I readjust it or pull it back down. I wear mine most of the day but do take it off at night.
At the hospital my routine for after peeing was wipe, use antimicrobial spray, rinse with peri bottle. They sent me home with the spray and peri bottle but i have no clue how long im supposed to continue this routine..especially the antimicrobial spray part. The bottle says to use 1 week unless directed by dr. Any ideas? Keep in mind i had a csection.
Mine did not do anti microbial spray- it was just peri bottle rinse and pat dry. The only other spray I was given was dermaplast got pain. I think you are good for peri and pat once you are home until you are physically comfortable with regular wiping (not sure if that's painful post c section).

I never used any of that after my cs. I did after my vaginal delivery.
