Just a question if you chart- what do you do if you don't sleep well? I'd like to try tempting again but I don't sleep. I usually only sleep in like 2 he intervals. I wake up a lot and get out of bed to pee or check on kids a lot so I feel like it won't be accurate. I get up whenever the kids do usually 6:30/7. But H gets up at 4 so his alarm wakes me (if I'm not already awake).
Any advice on how to do this if you don't sleep well?

for me the time I temp is more of a factor than how many hrs of uninterrupted sleep I've had. I would try temping at a consistent time and see if that works.

I've been waking up a lot during the night lately (to take the dog out, use the restroom, etc.), and I still get consistent temps. I temp at 5am, but then usually go back to sleep until 6:30 or so.
Oh ok thanks! I could probably set an alarm for 6am. Or I could do it when Hs alarm goes off at 4 but I really don't want to set it that early on days he is off lol

I read that it has to be taken immediately upon waking and that going to the bathroom or anything can rise your temp. Like if you normally take it at 6am but you wake up to pee one day at 5:30am that you should take it at 5:30 because it will rise by 6 just from being awake. I have tried it and found this to be true for myself. A lot of women here have been doing it a lot longer than me so they might find otherwise. Get used to your baseline, try out a few ways and times until you feel like it's accurate for you.
Lemme ask - do you usually sleep similar intervals every night? Like, I go to bed and will wake up 2-3 hours later to pee. For me, length of time asleep matters more than time of day. So, really, I would try just temping after a 2-3 hour sleep and see how it goes.
I get up constantly to pee. A few nights ago, I think it was four? Ridiculous. So, I just optes to temp after I at leaat slept 2 hours and it was after 4am. Totally worked for me.

Sounds like you were in a similar situation to me. H's alarm goes off at 5 and when I was temping I didn't have to be up until 7-8, although DS was usually up around 6. I would just take my temp when H's alarm went off. On the weekends I would just leave my thermometer under my pillow and take it at 5, but not even open my eyes and just go right back to sleep. Although as the months went on I noticed if I took my temp later (like at 7) it didn't effect my temp enough to through anything off.

It kind of varies. I've hardly slept at all tonight lol but I had a fever today randomly so I am sure it's because I just don't feel well. I usually wake up at least four times a night, it's ridiculous!! I think I will try it next cycle and see what happens I will just try to do it after a good chunk of sleep.
@karmawhore, Hi! I missed this yesterday. I have a sleep disorder but have been able to temp successfully. Without medication, I can't sleep more then 90- 120 minutes at a time, even with medication I still rarely sleep more than 5.
My approach to temping is very similar joy. Typically, I will try to get atleast 2.5 hours and will not take my temperature before 5 am. Between 5:30am and 8am is where I find my temps to be most consistent.
I think that as long as you are following a some type of schedule with your temping you will see a pattern appear.

I could always find consistent temperatures as long as I got at least 2 hours of sleep and temped between 3 and 6 am. Just try to be as consistent as possible. I'm also a frequent pee-er so more than 2 hours of sleep for me was not always possible.
