This is exactly how I feel about V and everything I have tried to do/read about doing for the past month. This is why moms constantly second guess everything they do.
Yes! I'm reading about 4 sleep books simultaneously. And picking and choosing what makes sense from each lol.
That's just what I needed this morning!! Looks like T has hit the dreaded 4 month regression...he turns 4 months this Saturday. And lucky us, we'll be in louisville doing the bourbon trail for H 30th birthday. We've got a friend's mother watching him during the day, but looks like I'll be exhausted the night before and night after. Man, up every hour blows. I don't know how I'm going to do this for weeks, I was already tired at work when he was sleeping 3 hour stretches (although he did have one glorious 6 hour stretch). Hopefully this will be over before I start my new job

I must have missed your update. Did you get the new job?
@poppyc8, I did!! I think I put it in a random thread a couple days ago I'm giving my notice next thursday. I signed and sent in the paperwork yesterday! Thanks for asking!
Eta: this new company is being super awesome about my start date. If my current boss fires me sooner than my 60 day notice, they'll try to get me started 2 weeks later. And if I work all through my notice, they'll start me Jan 12 so that I get the holidays to relax.
Baby is only three and a half months and I think the four month regression is already starting or maybe its a leap(that reminds me mist get wonder weeks book today) or maybe he's teething. Ugh. Back to the surgeon today to check on my c-section incision. It seems seriously unfair that I'm still healing when my kid is already starting to teeth...
That is SO true. I was just thinking last night about how I "shouldn't be nursing to sleep" or "rocking a baby to sleep is a crutch", but damnit, this may be my only baby and I'm going to cuddle her all she wants.
H and I just got tickets for a concert at the end of January. It's a few hours away from our house, and near a friend's place, so the plan is to stay with them overnight and leave V with my parents.
It's still 3.5 months away and I am already fantasizing about getting a full night of sleep (though knowing how I am, I'll probably be up all night anyway).
Isn't it just incredible how such a minor thing in life (in the grand scheme of things) can sound so, so amazing? DH and I were supposed to have an overnight get away this month, which we ended up needing to cancel because life is just too chaotic at the moment. As much as I was looking forward to having the time with DH, the biggest thing that bums me out about cancelling is loosing a kid-free night of sleep.... Sleeping through the night (yes I would have skipped pumping for an extra glorious hour), not waking up at the crack of dawn with DS1...
I know I've read that or a similar rant before, but I burst out laughing at "Sleep when the baby sleeps. Clean when the baby cleans." If only! My random for the day: it was a year ago today that I went in to see if I had a bug, and found out we were having a baby. Somehow that feels like a really long time ago now.
My kid just had a huge poopsplosion in her dad's office when of course he's in a meeting. It was everywhere and I feel terrible because there was hair in her poop which was obviously mine. I had to pull it out of her. : /

Anyone else have a SO who does NOT understand being quiet when trying to get the baby to sleep? Every night I have to shush H and every night he gets annoyed and I feel like a nag. It's an obnoxious cycle.

Add us to the sick list. T was a sniffling, sneezing mess last night and I slept in the recliner with him.. Today DS1 has a fever (at dinnertime, no less) and aches and chills.
So sorry to everyone who is feeling sick! Hopefully you all recover quickly.
I saw the surgeon and he said it's just very very slow healing. He said there is nothing we can do to speed it up and nothing I can do that will hurt it so I can go about my normal life and that if it hasn't fully healed by the new year to call him again. Not sure whether to count it as good news or bad.
