I was discharged yesterday and got home at around 10pm and crashed. I finally slept. My milk has come in finally. The babies did great all night and they were stable the entire night!
Today they are planning to switch Nataleigh to the traditional vent which is amazing!! Nolan is down to 85% oxygen and was at 100% so this is huge! His other vent settings are lower as well! Gracelynns chest tube thing has been switched off and will come out tomorrow if her X-rays continue to show improvement her vent settings are down as well.
Im seeing my MFM tomorrow to get my staples out praise the lord and then will be here at the NICU all day again. Oh and Nataleigh and Gracelynn will start getting breast milk today! Nolan is still not quite ready for feeds but the girls will be getting 2ml(I think) every 3 hours in their lines. This is hugeeee progression!!

Fantastic news all around! Thank you for the update and make sure you make time to get some rest for you, as well. You're in this for the long haul right now, so don't burn yourself out in the short term!!
Nolan is doing great!! His heart echo was wonderful and showed very very small signs of pulmonary hypertension (the issues with his breathing) but the meds are working. He does have a small PDA in his heart. This is a valve that typically is open while they are in the womb and then closes once born. Since our babies are soo early it's very common for them to still be open. They think his will close with a few minor fluid adjustments. No brain bleeds. Lower vent setting! He also got his catheder out. He gets his first breast milk feed today. He also just got his picc line in after three attempts by all different doctors.
Gracelynn is also doing very well. She did not have a heart echo but will on Friday. They took out her chest tube woo hoo. She also did not have any brain bleeds and has lower vent settings as well. They will be switching her to a regular vent in a day or two. She handled her first breast milk feed great! She is getting her picc line now. Nataleigh is doing very good on her traditional vent. Her settings are super low! She does have a grade 2 brain bleed. They are watching it and will repeat the scan on Monday. There is nothing we can do at this time. It will resolve on its own. If it continues to get bigger (very very unlikely) they will put a shunt in to relieve the pressure. This is extremely common in preemie babies. She also has a moderate pda. They are trying the reduced fluids until Friday. If it hasn't changed by then they will start her on meds to hopefully close the valve. If that doesn't work she might (very unlikely) have to go to another very close hospital for a minor minor surgery to close it. She will be getting her picc line tonight.
Over all all the babies are doing excellent!! The doctor said they are much much more stable now and will almost definitely make it to discharge which is amazing news!!
As for me: I had my staples out today and was pretty terrified of my incision. It's healing ok. My right side is not closing as expected but they went over a precious incision from a lymph node removal biopsy thing and I think the scar tissue is building up. I'm also super super bruised and sore since they had to do sooo much pulling, pushing, and tugging to get the girls out. The incision is extremely low like halfway down my hair line which is super nice. I've also already lost about 20 pounds! My milk supply is amazing so far. I'm getting between 3-4 oz per pumping session. But I do already have blisters which really really hurt. But I'm pushing through. I have to continue my blood thinners for 8 weeks and see my MFM again in 4 weeks. But overall I'm doing ok.

If you are not already doing it, one of my LCs gave me the trick of putting lanolin or whatever nipple cream you like directly inside the breast shields before you put them on to pump. So basically on the edge of the shield and into the little tube part where your nipple goes. It's a little messier to clean up, but it really does help! Pure lanolin is totally safe and I think most other nipple creams should tell you if they are safe for babies. They should be, because no mom has time to wash her nipples before every feed!
Also, make sure you have the right size shield if you're getting blisters already. I'm sure part of it is just the newness and frequency you are likely pumping, but it's worth double checking.

I'm so glad to see such wonderful news!!! Especially the statement that they will all make it to discharge. You have been through hell and you are holding up amazingly well. You are an incredible Mama already. Nolan, Gracelynn and Nataleigh are lucky to have you!
Sparkly thank you so much for the tips! I really appreciate it! I am exclusively pumping since my babies are soo tiny but I've been working with my LC but I might call her again and have her watch me pump again and make sure my shield is right. I think it is but I'm super new at this so I have no idea exactly what I'm doing!
surfmama106 someone told me that yesterday and I also started using lanolin and can tell some definitely improvement! Thank you!

snd1231 I honestly wondered for so long (and still not even 100% sure) about the shields. But I always thought they were right and didn't have issues so I just KOKO.
I can't imagine EPing. So much work and dedication! The few times I traveled away from her and had to pump around the clock... Ugh! So whatever you do, just know it's awesome and you're doing a great job! Every little bit of BM they get is great for them!
