Hi there! I've lurked for years but I just got my BFP. I plan to cloth diaper but I just found out that Florida law says cloth diapers can only be used in day cares if the provider dumps the poop first. Because of this, it's apparently impossible to find any day cares near me who accept cloth diapers. Has anyone here got around that?

I am in FL & I did not know this, but right now LO is home. He will eventually go to daycare, at least part time. Following this too. Congratulations on your BFP!

That's what I said, but I looked up the law and it's true! My coworker told me she had planned to cloth diaper but couldn't find a day care that would allow it.
My best friend has repeatedly offered to be my child care provider, but she's pregnant again (with #4!), so I need a backup plan.
I got curious and checked the info on the diaper wreckers site.....it's in there that the poop from cloth diapers must be deposited in the toilet....
Ok, so disposable liner, nbd. I was asking if she has actually talked to DC's herself and confirmed that they won't do it, bc it sounded like she got that info 2nd hand.

Yeah, definitely ask around. You could definitely suggest disposable liners.
I find that rule really funny, because in NH the providers are specifically prohibited from dumping the poop out. We are also not allowed to use home-laundered CD's if there is a diaper service available. Luckily there is only 1 diaper service in my state and it doesn't cover our area....jeez...

I was not referring to any specific response .....just stating my curiosity confirmed that the laws really do state that. I agree with a previous post in that I don't understand how poop in a cloth diaper is different than poop in a disposable diaper.....however, TJ you are correct, there would be workable solutions that some daycares are willing to do so OP does need to speak to the daycares directly before worrying about other alternatives.
I would also approach the DC with a nice, cute AIO and ask if they would consider CDs. Don't mention the law. If they bring it up then mention things like disposable liners, but I wouldn't take it upon yourself to notify them of a stupid law. Technically my DC is supposed to plastic bag every poopy diaper, but that happens about 5% of the time. Also, if you simply aren't able to find a CD that takes CDs, it's not at all unreasonable to just CD at home. You'll still save money.
