I am semi-new to this board after not seeing too much activity on the bump. Long story short, I actually just typed a super long post and then my computer jumped back a screen and I lost it all!!!) I am 38 and going through a new IVF (just triggered last night after 15 days of stimming) and my response has been so poor compared to last time at age 35. I cannot believe how much my fertility has declined in under 3 years. At 35 I had 14 eggs retrieved, 12 were mature and 10 fertilized-6 made it to blast. We transferred 2 each time, and I was pregnant every time (twice with twins) but we only had 1 baby (4 miscarriages). I lost 2 babies over the summer at 8 and 10 weeks. So here we are, starting from scratch, on the max dose of bravelle/menopur and I'm getting shitty results..and I am so down and depressed because we need to do PGS testing this time but I am worried about even getting one embryo to test and what are the chances it will be normal with my history?!?! We were able to test one baby from my last failed pregnancy and it was trisomy 21. This time I only have 4 follies on each side, but only about 4 look big enough. At yesterday's appointment they were LEFT-19.26, 14.67, 10.66, 13.47 and RIGHT-12.97, 23.71, 20.18, 17.02. It also looks like the nurse who did the last 2 ultrasounds made a few smaller by her measurements than the previous nurse...did they shrink somehow??? I am also annoyed by the fact that I ran out of Bravelle after 12 days and then found out there was a recall due to possible potency issues...is that why I had a shitty response? I had to take 8 vials of menopur the last 3 days of stimming instead of 4 of each. Is it worth it to even PGS if we only get one embryo? Will we have the money to do another IVF in a few months to get more embryos to test? My meds alone this cycle were $10,000!!!!! I am so frustrated and defeated feeling and have all these questions in my head. It sure would feel good to hear some success stories about IVF the 2nd time around at an older age or PGS testing...thanks for listening to my rant.
