Ttma sleeping. Veronica will fall asleep in our arms, in her carseat, in the Mamaroo chair, etc, but not in the crib. Swaddling isn't working because she kicks herself loose. How is everyone dealing with sleeping situations? For those who have your LO in the crib, how did you do it?! Veronica slept in the crib on her 3rd night home but she's been getting fussier about being in there ever since. I'm getting so damn frustrated.
She's five days old so all over the map. She's mainly napping on us and as much as she sleeps at night, in the Bassinest. Pretty sure she doesn't know her days / nights yet... we'll tackle other issues once we figure that out.
We use Halo sleep sack swaddles. LO definitely won't slssp anywhere other than my arms without it. She sleeps in the bassinet at night in our room. She usually takes one nap in her crib during the day. The rest can vary depending on what are are doing: mamaroo, car seat, my arms.

I remember with DS we had 2 weeks of sleeping in the co sleeper at night then it was only arms. We gave in since I needed sleep and learned to bed share.
DS2 is pretty chill and will sleep anywhere so far. I know that may still change.
We DS1 we did a double swaddle with A+A blankets that he couldn't get out of.
I use the halo and the woombie (I think they are called) at night to swaddle and he sleeps in the bassinet. During the day he usually takes one nap in the car seat, one in the crib and one snuggling with me (because let's be real who doesn't love some baby snuggles . ) once he starts sleeping longer stretches at night I will put him in his crib. Which might be soon he only woke up once last night to eat! then once at 5 which is when I get up for the day anyway.
I agree with the sound machine! I didn't use one with ds but did with ds2 and I swear that helped a ton!
Little Slick - fell in love 6/26/12, a forever family 11/26/12, finally home 12/6/12! The moment I really became a mama: mrs-slick.blogspot.com/2013/01/mama.html
The only place DS will sleep well right now (other than being held) is in the RnP. We were hoping to have him sleep in the PnP napper, but he doesn't tolerate it, even if he's swaddled.

Thanks for the advice! I broke out the Swaddle Me blanket I received for my shower but it's still pretty big for my preemie girl. I did buy the R&P on Amazon. After hearing such good reviews, it's worth a shot.

+1 for cheast sleeper. She sleeps so much longer next to me versus the 30min-1hr in the bassinet. I can get a good 4 hours if she is on me and I am definitely taking those 4 hours if I can.
Caroline is 2 weeks old now and the last 4 nights she has been up screaming most of the night. I think she has gas issues, and we just started using the mylicon drops yesterday to see if it will help. She just seems so uncomfortable and crunches up and then arches her back. Does anyone have and gas relief recommendations? She is bottle fed, but with pumped breast milk.
We've established a pretty good routine the last several nights. Im sure it will all go to shit in a few days, but for now its working. Whenever she poops around 9-10, mh changes her diaper and i bring her upstairs to nurse in bed. This usually takes about 30 mins bc of her poor latch. When shes nice and milk drunk I put her in the halo sleepsack swaddler. She has to be all sleepy and noodly. I lay her down in the cosleeper and we usually get 3-4 hours of sleep. When i hear her starting to stir i listen for a grumbling toot and then give her a few mins to finish pooping (ive made the mistake too many times of not waiting and being pooped on). I wake mh to change her and go to the bathroom myself. And the whole process repeats. We've been getting 6-7 hours of sleep with just one interruption. Hallelujah! Dammit, i probably just jinxed us.
This is our exact evening routine but I was too afraid to say it out loud for fearing of jinxing...

MadMoe, I have been giving the Little Tummies gas drops after each feeding and I think it has been helping. I bought some gripe water today to also try. With bottle feeding they do take in more air, so maybe you could burpmhalf way through the feeding session. Also could it be something you are eating? I have been eating a lot of pasta from a dish someone made me, and I read today that pasta makes a lot of gas for babies.
@jj32 thanks for the recommendation. I had the hubby go and buy some gripe water yesterday evening, and I think it helped. She slept from 11:30 to 3:30 then 4:00 to 7:30. I think it was the longest she has slept in a row yet. FX that the grip water continues to work and it wasn't just a fluke!

I think gas issues are always worse with bottles because they can gulp it down so much faster. The gas drops were a lifesaver for us with Lo!
