Hello...I just wanted to start off introducing myself and hopefully getting some advice from you all. My name is Krystle...this is my 2nd pregnancy, first loss.
I was pregnant and due in May and found out yesterday that we lost the baby. I should have been 12 wks today but there was no heartbeat and baby measured the same as at my last ultrasound almost 3 wks ago which was a little small measuring at 8 wks 5 days..so obviously the baby stopped growing soon after that appointment.
Now it's been 3 weeks and I had no idea until I went to my appointment and there was no heartbeat so they brought me back for an ultrasound the next morning to confirm. I've had no outward signs of miscarriage so I chose to go with the cytotec rather than directly to a d&c. I'd prefer to do it naturally if possible. My dr seemed to think my body wasn't going to do it on its own since it hadn't in 3 wks.
I'm supposed to start the medicine on Monday night if nothing happens between now and then but other than a bit of super mild cramps I've not had any signs of my body trying to do what it should. Anyone else have advice in my situation?
I don't have any advice or experience with your particular experience...but I just wanted to say SO SORRY for your loss!! I found out there was no heartbeat at my 13 week appointment and similarly had lost the baby about 3 weeks prior right after my 9 week appointment (where we saw the heartbeat on u/s and all looked good). It is so hard! My doctor recommended/I wanted to go the D&C route. Sending you healing vibes, peace and hugs! It is so, so hard

I'm so sorry for your loss. I never put my experience in the cytotec thread, so here it is.
Back in August, I was 8 weeks when we found out there was no heartbeat, and baby only measured 6+1. By body hadn't started anything on its own, and I just wanted everything done and over with so I opted for a cytotec induced m/c.
My dr told me told me to expect 30-60 minutes of intense cramping and bleeding, after which it should mostly be over. My experience was nothing like that. I ended up needing 4 rounds of meds (400mg each), but I never had the intense cramping or bleeding.
I inserted (vaginally) the first round Friday night as I was going to bed. When I woke up the next morning I was spotting a bit, but that was it. I inserted the second round Saturday morning and spent the weekend on the couch. Light cramps off an on, a backache, some light spotting, but that was it. A heating pad greatly helped the cramps but mine never got that bad.
Called the dr Monday morning and they wanted me to try 2 more rounds before starting to consider a D&C. I did start cramping and bleeding a bit more on my own Monday, but since it still wasn't intense or heavy I used the third round of meds Monday night. Same thing Tuesday, some cramps, some bleeding but not that much so I used the fourth round Tuesday night.
Wednesday I called the dr back again sure they hadn't worked. I already had a follow-up ultrasound scheduled for the next week so they asked me to just wait until then. That afternoon I cramped more and finally passed some clots. Thursday I cramped for about a half hour (not that intense) and passed what was clearly tissue. It wasn't that much, but when I went for my follow-up the next week ultrasound showed I had passed everything.
After all that the dr office told me that since baby only measured 6+1 that there wasn't much to pass. I spent the whole time frustrated that the meds weren't working, but they were doing their job fine.
Some people do experience intense cramping and lots of bleeding. Some people don't. Unfortunately it's impossible to know which will happen until it does.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Please feel free to PM me if you have ANY questions. I'm ok talking about what happened, so if there's anything you want to know, please ask. Many hugs to you.

Oh, thank you for checking. The cytotec experience wasn't too bad. I passed everything except a bit of placenta which got stuck in my cervix. The doctor was able to pull it out easy enough so thankfully I was able to avoid a d&c.
My husband and I buried a teeny tiny little baby in our side yard...I picked a name and that in addition to being able to bury it helped me be at peace. I still have moments where it bothers me a ton.
My daughter one day out of the blue pointed at my belly and said baby. We had been telling her about the baby in my belly and I guess she remembered. It was everything I could do to hold it together in front of her. (she's almost 2).

So sorry for your loss. There are many parts of our stories that are similar. It is still so hard, even 2 weeks later. I'm hoping it gets easier with time.
