Is it happening yet? How is it going? Post baffling questions, hard earned advice, or exhausted rants here. Hopefully there isn't already a topic for this... I didn't see a recent one, anyway...

I think Charlotte may be starting to teeth. I read that while babies usually cut their first teeth between 6-7 months, the symptoms can begin as soon as 3 months before hand. I think she's exhibiting some of the symptoms, but she doesn't have any buds that I can see or feel yet.
According to Dr., LO is teething. And it's happening right at 4 months, so I have no idea if her crappy sleep is that or normal regression. So I'm begging some help from the second time moms, or anyone who is going through this now. 1. Can you tell regression from teething? Would teething pain seem to only happen at night? LO chews on things in the day, but there's no tears. At night she wakes up miserable. 2. What remedies are you using/would recommend? I have given LO infant Tylenol at night a couple of times... But I don't know if that is okay on a regular basis...

We seem to be teething. I can feel tooth buds and J bites down and chews hard on my fingers, his fingers, pacifiers, toys, basically anything in or near his mouth.
He has a hard time getting teething toys in his mouth, his coordination just isn't there yet.
He seems to be miserable during the day, but fine at night. Idk if teething is causing the not napping during the day, or if that is more because he just wants to look at everything. I usually give tylenol once a day or once every other day, after I've exhausted all other possibilities. Usually by that point he is gnawing on his whole hand and crying while doing so, and it's a little different than his hungry cry.
We keep a few pacifiers in the freezer. They don't stay cold very long once they are out, but sometimes that is enough for J to calm down. He also likes chewing on burp cloths lately.

I think we're there - although LBB didn't get his first tooth in till 10 months. My doctor told me BH was teething at his 4 month appointment and I said "no way, it's too early!" He reminded me that every child is different, and the symptoms usually come about 2 months before the tooth, so we're looking at actually getting his first tooth around 6 months. BAH!
His first signs were the constant hands in mouth and increase in drool (although really, the kid is a faucet normally). And the past two days he's been pulling his right ear all the time. Last night, he was up every 2 hours, which is what happened with LBB when he started teething. And although he's been a dream in the car lately, today he was a hot mess every time we drove anywhere. We gave him some tylenol tonight in the hopes it helps.
1. Can you tell regression from teething? For us I could, but again, LBB didn't get a tooth until he was 10 months old, so we were over the sleep regression. (Which is it's own version of hell, because they lull you into that false sense of security again like "Oh yeah mom? You're getting used to nice chunks of sleep? Well do I have a surprise for you!")
Would teething pain seem to only happen at night? This was my experience with LBB.
2. What remedies are you using/would recommend? I know this has been covered before, so hopefully someone will link it. I will say that for us we did Advil every night (again, older baby) which was really the only thing that really helped. I try not to get too worked up over the medication because it's for definite period of time and we only gave it before bed. LBB didn't care for the frozen teethers, but BH seems to enjoy them so I'll probably stick a wet washcloth or too in there to see how those go. We did use cucumber sticks for LBB, another benefit of a late teether. And while I wouldn't tell anyone to go out and buy those amber necklaces because I have no idea whether they work or not, I will say we used them with LBB and will probably stick one on BH tomorrow.
musicfrk2002 & billyhorrible, the two of you combined have my baby. It's been like this for a couple weeks but getting worse. The day pretty much goes to crap after he wakes up from his first nap of the day and he doesn't stay asleep for naps unless I'm right there with him. I haven't given him any Tylenol yet, because it isn't always clear to me if he is feeling pain or just being crabby from not getting the sleep he needs.
DD got her first tooth at 4m2d and her second a couple days later. Months 2 and 3 was a LOT of drool and chewing. She still chews on everything but the drool has slowed down for now. Being that they cut right at 4 months, I don't really know what I've been experiencing is teething or regression personality/sleep wise. She's slept worse since her teeth cut so I think it's been just a bad chain of events. Her personality is chilling out again, she's always been a pretty chill baby but she seems even more relaxed the last few days-maybe that means sleep will change again soon?! However I am also starting to experience a very distracted breastfeeder and am starting to get bit a lot. I don't remember getting bit this consistently with DS but he was 2.5 months older than her when he got his first teeth, maybe that helped a bit.
All in all though, DS just got his two year molars alllll summer long and they definitely hurt him the most and took the longest to come in. So it's hard to say baby teething was that bad because I was more focused on dealing with his leading up to finding hers had popped, lol.
