Every company should provide sick days for their employees. I shouldn't have to burn thru my vacation time when myself or a kid is sick.
I believe something like this is in the works along with required paternity leave for men...
I wish DH would have had required leave when DS was born. Labor for 23+ hours, DS born at 7:51 pm, he called work to let them know, and they told him. "great! You work tomorrow at 4:30 am." So he had to leave the hospital 3 hours after DS was born so he could sleep for a few hours before going to work. No time off at all after they had promised him 4 days... Assholes.
Rotaries are a superior traffic management option to multiple stop lights.
Rotaries? Is that like a roundabout? If so, please dear god no! The drivers here would come to a dead stop and just stare at each other saying no no.. You go first... >_<

We call them roundabouts or traffic circles in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan... Our Urban design class in college used traffic circles almost exclusively. I can't say over ever heard someone call it a rotary out loud.

They are now putting blinking lights at out roundabouts. Proceed while blinking and stop when not. Works like a charm.
Minus the times when captain save a hoe gets to the front on the blinking light trying to let others jump in. Cause waiting two more seconds is so awful.
That being said, my only problem with roundabouts is people who have no idea how to use them. Otherwise they're awesome and definitely keep traffic moving a lot better.

I agree, but then there are times there are lights on the roundabout. Which sort of make sense for a multilane highway interchange that was a roundabout before traffic became heavy on both highways. It does not make sense on a 2 lane suburban roundabout with little traffic.

They installed a roundabout in a small town north of me, and Omg people do not no know how to use it! I have had people stop in the middle of it to let me in! F$*!king GO!
