Third night my son is up more than asleep (teething). Third night I'm up more than asleep laying in bed starving.
Do I go downstairs and eat or stay up here and suffer till the am?
I've gone with suffer each time. I gained 50 lbs last pregnancy without eating at night lol. I lost all the weight but don't quite want to gain as much.
I'd probably eat It could be better for weight gain, that you spread out your eating and then maybe don't eat as much in one sitting since you aren't starving. Or that could be a good excuse to just go eat. Also, I'm terrible about snacking on carbs all the time. While pregnant, I made a big effort to eat a lot of protein, which does more to help the hungry all the time feeling. And its supposed to help reduce nausea too.
I think I was so hungry because I didn't get any sleep. I usually have a snack before bed. But this kid didn't get the message that night time is for sleeping last night.
I'm hungry more at night than I used to be, and I also have a night waking kiddo. I had figured it was the breastfeeding need more calories thing, but I bet youre right and its just the awake thing. I'm really hoping J starts sleeping more at night before I have a new one up all night! I can handle one--two would be tough!

I work nights so on my days off I always want night snacks. Maybe we should start a thread for healthy high protein snack ideas. I am diabetic so low carb is a must for me.
I think a snack thread is a great idea! I usually wait till I'm starving, then scramble for the easiest thing. I need to get better at planning good snacks (and meals) in advance.
