LadyNymeria - I actually don't mind legitimate chart stalks, but "legitimate" is the challenge! A legitimate chart stalk is similar to the legitimate question standard.
Like, I can't stand a chart stalk request when you have no fucking data in your chart. But, sometimes, even an experienced sharter could use other thoughts and the regs outside of the WTO/TWW threads might be best able to offer assistance.
Good point. I think the one currently floating on the first page tainted my thoughts of them.

Heheh, you said "sharter."
I know! I'm leaving it. I kind of hate that term, but it's hilarious.
I promise you that no one will get flamed for asking a question that isn't automatically answered inside the Newbie Blog or within the last couple days.
There are many, many situations that aren't 100% covered by the implantation spotting graphic. But, this has always been a board where you do have to lurk a bit and understand how things are handled. If you don't do that, and just HAVE to blurt out every vent or chart frustration that occurs to you in your own posts on the main board, you are going to get called out. Especially, by the way, if you don't participate in any other threads or parts of the community.
Daily personal ute updates outside of TWW and WTO tend to be frowned upon. Or, at least, I frown upon them.

(Agreed on Keurig and DD coffee - not that great!)
My UO is that I cannot understand people who eat off of paper plates every day. For a BBQ or camping or a big party where you don't have enough dishes, sure. But like, families who throw a dozen paper plates away every single day? WTF. It's expensive, it's soggy, and it's terrible for the environment. It makes zero sense to me. (FWIW, I don't have a dishwasher, and it takes 5 minutes to wash the dishes and set them in a drying rack.)
I have a lot of ideological disagreements with the Duggars (the 19 Kids & Counting family), but one of my biggest cringes when I have watched that show is seeing them use 21 paper plates, 21 plastic cups, and a boxful of plastic utensils every time they eat dinner, even though they have installed an industrial dishwashing machine. This is me:

Obviously, textsfrommyute are the exception:
I never thought to text my ute. I've only been stalking my ute's FB page for any updates. So far its been nothing but dark blurry pictures and frowny faces. What could this mean??? Pleez Halp!
The DD coffee hate is making my heart hurt. I LOVE DD coffee and there are only 2 DDs in California and none near me. I only get DD when I go home to NY or go to Vegas. I dream of their iced coffee with toasted almond syrup. It is heavenly. I personally am tired of Starbucks. There are 9 of them in my city and they're always packed. I don't get the love for anything at Starbucks except the salted caramel mocha. And every Starbucks near me ran out of salt in November and didn't restock. Bitches.
I guess my UO today is that with the vent post about too many vent posts, and all of the check ins I'm having anxiety about where to post questions, or updates and things. I don't want to be all AWish, but at the same time I hate for my posts to get lost in the check ins (because, you know, my posts are pure awesome and shouldn't be missed)
I really think the best place for questions is in the check-in posts (WTO, TWW, WTDS, TFAS, etc. depending on your situation). Newbie Playdates are also a good place, as some of the experienced/very knowledgeable posters who don't always go in the check in threads will pop into there and answer questions.
ETA: Venting =/= questions ... They are usually different. If your question is an actual question, has broad appeal, and you have searched the board, the newbie blog, and tried asking in check ins, without getting a solid answer, then you can make a separate post. I'm pretty sure there's a super helpful (hilarious) graphic on the blog about this.
I hate this mentality because it assumes people read them. Do you all really read all of the check ins daily just in case someone has a question that you might be able to answer despite the fact that the check in doesn't apply to you?
So I grow my hair out every few years to donate it. I'm getting close to donating time, and I'm REALLY considering going short like Kaley Cuoco for a change. EVERYONE around me tells me I shouldn't do it. But I'd rather just give it to someone else, and watch it grow again.
I have a long face, so apparently it wouldn't look good on me. Meh. I'll probably chop it off anyways.
Do it! I have a longish face and my hair was last my shoulder. In October I took a picture of Kaley Cuoco to my hair stylist and got the cut. I loved it! It's more work to get ready in the morning and I received tons of compliments. Although, now that it's been a few months I'm ready ro let it grow out.
That's what I was thinking too. Worst case scenario, it does grow out. I need a change, and although I love my hair long, I really only grow it long to give it away. It gets too damn hot to have long hair in the summer! lol

I agree with this, but we've moved to cloth for most of our needs. It bugs me when my sister and BIL use paper plates every week for our game nights. There are 4 of us. You own a dishwasher that works perfectly well (we have the same one). At least they've moved away from disposable cups, so it's just paper plates and paper towels.
I can't think of a UO right now, but the disposable thing bugs me.

I did not realize there were lots of people who do this. This seems extremely lazy in my mind.
Re: vents/AW posts/ chart stalks - I think PP have covered it. I've always found if I have specific question I would like answered, and it could be answered in one of the daily threads, that it is best to make a separate comment rather than lump it in in your WTO/TWW fill in the blank post. That way people can see that you have a question and it's not lost in a wall of text.
The GTKY's are another thing for me. There have been so many lately that it's been hard to find the questions or even the daily threads. I like participating in GTKY's but not 5+ a day. Maybe that is my UO.
The GTKYs are getting a little repetitive. We had one on sleeping and then like 3 days later one on pillows. Wouldn't the pillows one be covered in the sleeping GTKY? Do we really need to know this about people? My best friend doesn't even know how I sleep nor do I think she cares.
I love my Keurig. Although helps that it was free The Gevalia mocha lattes are awesome.
My UO is that all singing competition shows are super annoying and have run their course. Do we really need season 57 of American Idol? Has a single winner in the last 5 seasons gone on to a successful career? For every Carrie Underwood there are a bunch of winners who have been completely forgotten. The schadenfreude of watching the train wreck auditions has even gotten old. And I love some good schadenfreude. I know that there are millions of people who vehemently disagree with me on this, so flame away
Side note - I do love Harry Connick Jr. though - the soundtrack of When Harry Met Sally gave him a permanent place in my heart.

I completely agree! It seems like they are always on, in one form or another. I'm not a huge reality TV fan at all. The only reality shows I can watch are usually home renovation or house hunter shows.

Speaking of coffee, my UO is that I hate ALL coffee. The smell, the taste, anything about it-I'm just not a fan. It's a drink I wish I liked though- I feel like it would make mornings better!
I used to hate it. Then I had an 8am finance class in college and I learned to like coffee quickly to get through it every day. I started with flavored coffee with decent amounts of cream/milk and sugar and just reduced the amount of stuff I added. Now it's just a splash of milk and a bit of sugar. Can't start my day without it!
I had an 8 am microeconomics class in college that was the same semester as 4 am crew practice, so that was when I was introduced to coffee - I'd head straight from the river to class, and my friend would meet me there with a cup of coffee (with milk and sugar). One day I was so exhausted that he had to poke me during class to tell me that I was pouring the coffee down my sweatshirt and not noticing. By age 26 I was making at least 2 Starbucks runs a day.
Now I'm having flashbacks to crew practice - 4 am in March in Massachusetts is highly unpleasant, especially when you are the cox so you are not even moving around to stay warm. Poor life choice, that was.
I love my Keurig. Although helps that it was free The Gevalia mocha lattes are awesome.

I'm also sick of American Idol and wish it would end. I hate it mainly because they always seem to bump shows I watch in order to show American Idol twice a week.
However, I love So You Think You Can Dance and would be quite upset if that was cancelled so I imagine there are still people out there who feel like that about AI. At least SYTYCD is on during the summer when not much else is so it never bumps a standard series!!

SYTYCD is fantastic! It and Masterchef are the only competition shows I watch.
I look forward to it every summer!! SYTYCD and Hell's Kitchen are it for me. Although I only watch Hell's Kitchen on DVR so I can fast forward the annoying parts (i.e. contestants screaming at each other).

Yeah, this was why I specified singing shows - I don't mind the dancing ones so much (esp. since, as you said, they are less likely to bump a show!)

H asked me once why I watch SYTYCD and cooking competition shows. What do I see in them? I think I enjoy watching people do things that I am so, so bad at. I'm completely jealous of the dancers.
Nooooo! DD coffee is the best! The closest one is about an hour away from my house and there are maybe 2 total outside of New Orleans.
My UO is that I believe professional athletes are paid too much. While I respect their talent and dedication, I cannot justify a multimillion dollar paycheck, especially when other professions such as emergency physicians or our soldiers are not paid nearly as much and have a much larger impact on society.
It won't keep me from watching the Super Bowl, but it does make me sad sometimes.

Mmmmm SCMs. Damn them and their unwillingness to stock the salt year round. You know they do it on purpose.
So far I'll say that DD coffee is the best (don't get me started on Starbucks eww), I am not a huge fan of GTKY's, I do like check-ins, and the singing/dancing shows have sucked since day one and will continue to suck, and I love the way our love tits change frequently, it makes me giggle.
My UO: chocolate bars/candies are gross. I'll eat a few pieces of dark chocolate here and there, but milk chocolate is so sweet, it's not enjoyable. Yes, I'm probably broken.
I'm with you on milk chocolate. It almost always tastes fake to me. Bleh.
Keurigs are the worst. Bad taste, so much waste, they crap out quickly. For me the convenience is not worth it, and I'm a lazy chick.
I have one of the original Keurig models, and I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for it to break, but this thing is like a tank. I even run well water through it, which is supposed to be the kiss of death. It sounds like an aircraft carrier taking off. When it starts up automatically in the morning the heating element is so loud I can hear it in our bedroom at the other end of the house.
I don't have an issue with the taste, but I wish it got hotter. If I want more than one cup I use my french press instead.
I'm probably going to get flamed, but I'm concerned about plastic leaching with Keurigs. Are the cup bpa free? I use my works sometimes when I just need some caffeine, but they usually taste terrible.
We got a French press and it is seriously the most delicious coffee! I need to wake up 5 mins earlier to make it daily.
