This month you need to lose an additional 3% of your starting weight for a total of 6%. Don't despair if you are behind -- you can catch up and the goals slow down after this month.
I thought a little check-in for the month might be in order.
1) What are your non-scale goals for this month? 2) What non-scale victories did you have in October? 3) Are you doing any tracking or using any apps to help you? 4) What do you think will be your biggest challenge this month? 5) Any questions, pep talks needed, AWs? 6) GTKY: If a movie was made about you, who would you want to play you? Who would you want to play your SO? (They don't have to look anything like you).
1) What are your non-scale goals for this month? I'd like to continue my 30 minute workout sessions and in a couple more weeks begin to add 15 minutes of weights before cardio.
2) What non-scale victories did you have in October? My size XL maternity underwear finally don't fit!
3) Are you doing any tracking or using any apps to help you? I'm logging my 30 minute rows to keep pushing my goal times.
4) What do you think will be your biggest challenge this month? Sugar. I need to keep the deserts to a minimum!
5) Any questions, pep talks needed, AWs? I'm ready to loose another 10lbs this month! I want to keep on hitting it hard for another few months until I'm back where I want to be (fitting into PP clothes). I keep on telling myself it is too hard to stop and start again. In a few months I'll feel like myself again and it is WAY easier for me to maintain than loose.
6) GTKY: If a movie was made about you, who would you want to play you? Who would you want to play your SO? (They don't have to look anything like you). Charlize Theron and Channing Tatum
1) What are your non-scale goals for this month? Incorporate more fruits and vegetables into my diet and eating those when I just want snacks. Exercising for an hour 3x a week and extend my yoga sessions. 2) What non-scale victories did you have in October? I've been doing daily stretching and I did get in some long walks. I also stopped by chocolate bar a day habit at work. 3) Are you doing any tracking or using any apps to help you? I started using sparkpeople again. I didn't like the interface on loseit or mfp. I'm logging nursing and pumping as a 300 calorie 1 minute activity to make sure I don't go too low on calories. 4) What do you think will be your biggest challenge this month? Sugar and portion control. And making myself move more. 5) Any questions, pep talks needed, AWs? I'd like to lose the weight to win this month. It's more that I'd like my maternity dress pants not to even be an option when all my jeans are in the wash. 6) GTKY: If a movie was made about you, who would you want to play you? Who would you want to play your SO? (They don't have to look anything like you). Christina Applegate and Ryan Reynolds
1) What are your non-scale goals for this month? To try and work out Monday through Saturday and change my eating habits.
2) What non-scale victories did you have in October? Making smarter food choices. 3) Are you doing any tracking or using any apps to help you? FitBit!
4) What do you think will be your biggest challenge this month? Eating well during the holidays. 5) Any questions, pep talks needed, AWs? Not at the moment!
6) GTKY: If a movie was made about you, who would you want to play you? Who would you want to play your SO? (They don't have to look anything like you). Um. I don't even know right now.
So, I'm not exactly trying to drop weight now, but am using the dietbet to be more accountable and only gain the recommended 0-5lbs in first tri and beyond. My remaining 9lbs from pregnancy are definitely the ones I gained first trimester.
1) What are your non-scale goals for this month? Try to be more active. I was on a roll and then started making excuses. No more!
2) What non-scale victories did you have in October? Eh…next question!
3) Are you doing any tracking or using any apps to help you? I was using MFP the first half of the month and then dropped the ball. Getting back on this!
4) What do you think will be your biggest challenge this month? Eating proper meals. DH isn't home for dinner time so I end up snacking, and then I'm not hungry at dinner so I don't bother since there is nobody here to eat anyways. Then I'm hungry later on. It's a vicious cycle.
5) Any questions, pep talks needed, AWs? I think I'm good?
6) GTKY: I would totally want Scarlett Johansen to play me because she is hawt! DH would be Gerard Butler just so I could fantasize about him and I
1) What are your non-scale goals for this month? Definitely to get into some exercise routine. I am starting work fulltime in mid November and I'm hoping that I will be able to fit in a workout at the gym before work. Also, not for this month, but I am asking for a fitbit for Christmas so I'm looking forward to that.
2) What non-scale victories did you have in October? I ate way less craps food that I have in the past. I have been eating lunch at home instead of grabbing something when I'm out and that has been really great.
3) Are you doing any tracking or using any apps to help you? I'm not using anything. In the past, I have used MFP and had good success with it so I may start using that. I just want to tackle one thing at a time though so this month is working out and maybe next month will be tracking.
4) What do you think will be your biggest challenge this month? Starting the new job. In some ways it will be easier and in other ways it will be harder.
5) Any questions, pep talks needed, AWs? Nope
6) GTKY: If a movie was made about you, who would you want to play you? Who would you want to play your SO? (They don't have to look anything like you). I would love Tina Fey to play me because then my movie would be funny. And since we are doing a comedy, Seth Rogan can play my hubby.
1) What are your non-scale goals for this month? Actually getting my training runs in. I need to -- January/February are not that far way.
2) What non-scale victories did you have in October? um... i ran like 2 times.
3) Are you doing any tracking or using any apps to help you? Livestrong aka myplate.
4) What do you think will be your biggest challenge this month? My birthday...
5) Any questions, pep talks needed, AWs?nope...
6) GTKY: If a movie was made about you, who would you want to play you? Who would you want to play your SO? (They don't have to look anything like you).
I like johanna,'s thing of Tina Fey and Seth Rogan. Those were good choices. :-)
1) What are your non-scale goals for this month? I need to get some kind of exercise in. There's a Planet Fitness opening up very close to school that I've been thinking about joining. I could do a workout after I leave school and before I pick up the baby from my mom's 2) What non-scale victories did you have in October? I feel like I've been eating less junk, and then Halloween happened... 3) Are you doing any tracking or using any apps to help you? I use MFP; I like that there is a cardio entry for "walking, carrying infant or 15-lb load". I know that burns some calories! 4) What do you think will be your biggest challenge this month? I have such a sweet tooth! I need something that will trick my brain into thinking fruit (or something else healthy) is as sweet/delicious as chocolate! 5) Any questions, pep talks needed, AWs? 6) GTKY: If a movie was made about you, who would you want to play you? Who would you want to play your SO? (They don't have to look anything like you). Gosh I dunno. My husband would need some serious-looking actor, like maybe John Hamm? Clive Owen? Daniel Craig? (YUM) I would like to be more of an Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence, or some other quick-witted/sharp-tongued girl.
Weigh in is today and tomorrow. Hope everyone is feeling good after the weekend. Remember you can take multiple pictures and weights before you submit and just submit the lowest one.
I'm doing OK. Didn't win, but I'm lighter and vacation didn't do me in.

I'm still grinding away...! Thanksgiving wasn't too bad for me, I managed to stay away from the sugar (for the most part).
seamonster is right, multiple weigh-ins and pictures is where it is at. Of course I already submitted my pictures and official weight, just weighed myself again and the scale tells me I'm 1.5lbs lighter. I guess I shouldn't guzzle water before I step on the scale next time...
I didn't win either. I actually gained weight this month. I was doing OK until the last week, which resulted in lots of eating out and poor food choices.
