Serial and other Pod Casts

I am seriously addicted.  I've listened to and re-listened to the first 5 episodes.

No spoilers in here please.

I need some more recommendations for similar pod casts or more good NPR.

Nothing that's going to make me ball my eyes out.  I'm listening to it at work (It actually helps me concentrate on boring tasks better).  And I listen to and from work.

Also, I want to listen to the spoilers.  But the first one I found was for episode 5.  Are earlier ones available?

If you're looking for more that are in some ways like Serial, you should check out This American Life, Invisibila, Radio Lab, and the Ted Radio Hour.

I also really enjoy Planet Money, Freakonomics, America's Test Kitchen Radio, and several of the podcasts put out by How Stuff Works.

Oh - I forgot two of my favorites. Savage Love (probaby not one to listen to, at least audibly, at your desk) and Pop Culture Happy Hour.

Oooo ooo ooo. Definitely add Criminal. I also like Ted Talks and TAL. Oh and The Longest Shortest Time is a pretty good one about parenthood. They usually make me cry though, don't listen at work. And MapleMe got me hooked on Spilled Milk.

The Serial Spoiler started with episode 5. If you listen to that one and/or a few more and don't love it, don't give up. #13 is the best, by far. And definitely read the articles related to #13 as well. I won't give anymore away than that.

Oh I've never heard of the longest shortest time....I'll be listening to that on my commute tonight.

Podcast are like radio talk shows or series that you can listen to digitally over the computer or on your phone. Most are free and air once a week. There are thousands of categories and topics if you have an apple there is a podcast app it's easy to subscribe and listen to.

Startup is my new favorite podcast. It's from one of the guys who started Planet Money and it's about starting his podcasting company. It's really well done.

I think they will do a poutine episode. I emailed them after their Canadian Junk Food episode because they had talked about wanting to do a poutine episode. So I gave them advice about how to do a good homemade poutine. I bet if someone paid for the to fly here from Seattle that they would be all about the Poutine Party. But I doubt that the party is epic enough to fund the flight themselves
