The other post got me thinking about coffee. What is your favorite kind of coffee? Do you use a French press or a coffee machine (or toddy or something else)? What's your coffee:water ratio? Go!

My favorite is a blend from a coffee exchange shop and I love making cold pressed coffee. I follow the grind:water rec and milk it down when I drink it. I also add sugar free vanilla and sugar to taste.
My favorite is french-press style, but most days i just have regular drop coffee. My whole family is a bunch of coffee snobs and my dad special-orders by the case from Cafe Britt (our favorite coffee growers in Costa Rica) to share with the family.

We buy our beans from a local roaster who has become really popular in the area the last few years. Any half way decent local eatery sells his coffee now, and a new microbrewery uses his beans for their coffee porter. DH and his friends are brewing a beer with his coffee on Saturday. We both prefer a light or medium roast because we drink it black. We have a conical burr grinder for the beans and brew in a French press. I have no idea what our coffee to water ratio is.

I used to love coffee - brewed fresh every morning. But since getting pregnant, the idea of hot coffee has totally made me want to gag. I have no idea why. So, I'm drinking iced coffee now. I'm hoping after I'm no longer pregnant I'll be able to tolerate some hot coffee!
I'm a coffee snob too. I'm obsessed with iced coffee, but I only like it if it has been cold brewed. Cold brewed coffee has to steep for around 12 hours and then it is filtered - as opposed to just brewing hot coffee and adding ice. Brewing it this way takes out the bitterness and acidity. I got a Toddy Cold Brew System for Christmas one year and it is the best! If you like iced coffee, you need to try it cold brewed. You will never go back!
I love coffee, but DH hates it. He even hates the smell of coffee!! He's crazy We were at his aunt's house this weekend and she adds cinnamon to the coffee grounds in her coffee pot. It was SO good!
ETA: I'm one of those people who need my coffee to have plenty of sugar or creamer in it
I'm with jennadesigns, coffee hasn't been sitting well since I got pregnant. I used to love a dark roast in the french press. Now I stick to lattes or vietnamese coffee, mmm.

I found this in my local grocery store a few months back, and it's wonderful for when I'm too lazy to brew my own. I love putting a little chocolate syrup and a lot of milk in mine when I make it in the morning.
I'm addicted to iced coffee. Starbucks or Dunkin are my go to. I'm not picky though. It just has to taste good. I recently bought a Keurig and I'm having a blast with all the different kind of coffees. Gevalia's caramel macchiato is my favorite so far. Yum!

Our house standard is a dark roast in the french press, DH likes to add a scoop of dark cocoa to it as well. I prefer a medium roast myself, but I just add a little extra cream or milk to compensate. In the summer time DH will brew it in the evening and let it cool a bit and stick the entire french press in the fridge when we go to bed, makes a decent iced coffee for the a.m. but I'm thinking we should try a proper cold brew sometime!
I will admit to owning a Keurig (MIL bought it for DH while we were dating), I have a love-hate relationship with it and think K-cups are incredibly wasteful but in a pinch it's not the worst thing ever. I bought a reusable filter to use with ground coffee and it's totally not ideal, but it makes me feel a little better.
french press is the way to go! Although I'll admit we bought a keurig on black friday. We still use the french press most days. well, DH does anyway. I'm off coffee until LO gets here. I'm hoping I can have it while BFing. I really miss it. I'll have like half a cup every month or so. We buy the fair trade or rainforest alliance beans from costco/sams club.
I have become a coffee snob because of DH. He has issues! He drinks about 6-8 cups a day - usually black with a few Stevia. He has to have the beans freshly ground at a shop or done at home. The coffee must be brewed with filtered water, he will freak out if I use tap water to make coffee, so I'm not allowed to make coffee anymore because my pregnant self always forgets. He despises coffee from D&D, most restaurants and any diner. And he only drinks bold. I don't know anyone pickier than his ass!

I'm so leary of anything that says "New Orleans Style". Where is it made?
I guess my other picky coffee thing is I have to have true "New Orleans style" coffee. I'm a Community Coffee Girl dark/med roast with chicory. I don't mind cafe du monde chicory coffee but it's not my first love. I've been drinking community since I was a kid and only was allowed "coffee milk" which is really just milk with a little coffee.

It's made in NOLA! Well Gretna, LA...but close enough. I'm a loyal PJs Coffee gal myself. I like Community, but PJs is my fav!
Not a coffee snob at all here- I mostly use the Keurig. I like Donut Shop decaf extra bold. Or Peet's decaf. I usually buy the Bailey's creamer in vanilla or regular irish cream flavor and 1/2 a splenda.
Yeah coffee! I love American drip coffee, black. Every morning. Usually a medium roast - I'm not that picky - but it has to be fresh and I grind it every morning.

This was how I was after I got preg with DD!!!! Even after I had her, I still could only drink iced coffee. This pregnancy, since after the first trimester-I love hot coffee again!! It's so weird bc I have hated it for over 2 years

my absolute favorite is the kind I can order through a drive-thru. #lazyassFTW
On the weekends we like to use our french press, but during the week we both wait till work to drink our coffee. My office as a Keurig, so I bring my own kcups in (hazelnut, yumski) and my husband drinks the black tar heroin that the receptionist brews in a pot.
Edit: for our french press, we love this coffee shop down the shower called How You Brewin'? We go down once a season and stock up on their beans.
