DS is a head banger. I'm not talking flopping over, he actually winds up and flinches before he attempts to head butt something. He will choose what he wants to smash his head in to, lean back, swing forward. If he misses, he laughs and tries again. Last night he got the edge of the kitchen table while sitting in his high chair for dinner. I remember DD going through a phase like this, just very briefly. We get our hands in between his head and his intended mark, but sometimes he is too fast for us to anticipate it.
We narrowly escaped a head to the side of the toilet this morning while I was trying to go.
MY LO goes backwards. He arches his back and then slams his head backwards. Sometimes it's because he's upset, and sometimes it's for funsies. The worst is when he does it unexpectedly while I'm holding him walking down the stairs and he hits his head on the wall. Pedi tells me it's a phase, but it's been going on for months.
My brother used to do this when he got really angry. Keep in mind he is 32 now, but, the pedi told my mom to let him bang his head. He said he would bang his head hard one time and it would hurt and he would stop. I'm not saying do this I'm jut telling you it is normal and it eventually stops.

Thanks I remember hearing it was normal. He has managed to get a few good bangs in, hoping soon he realizes it hurts less to not lol.
I think it's related to teething. He is drooling like crazy, everything is right into his mouth to be chewed on and he just wants to mush his face into everything.
