Surprise appointment this Friday

I've been spotting on and off since Thursday, as well as cramping basically all day every day since my positive test two weeks ago, so my doctor had me do HCG blood draws. The nurse just called to let me know that my numbers had gone from approximately 14000 to 23000- so they didn't double- but I also only had 41 hours in between draws instead of the usual 48. She didn't seem too concerned but said that the doctor wants me to have a viability ultrasound this Friday to check on everything. It's a relief that they're having me come in but also nerve-wracking, I just want everything to be okay. I'll be 6 weeks 1 day, so the nurse said we should be able to see the sac at the very least. I know this is kind of a "dear diary" post, but figured if anyone might be able to relate to this it would be you ladies. Thanks for reading

GL Friday! My RE was happy to see the sac and appropriate measurements for where I should be when I went 6w1d. I'm glad your doctor is having you come in early I'm sure that will help ease your mind.

Beta numbers start slowing waaaayyy down as they get higher. Like you can expect doubling every 48 hrs up to 1000 or 1200...then it becomes more like 72-96 hours for a while. So, your numbers sound great.
I hope you get to see a nice heartbeat on Friday.

Thank you everyone for the words of encouragement! My anxiety can be so frustrating at times, especially since I got the positive test. I was finally starting to let myself get excited, and then started spotting the next day and the panic came right back. The appointment will definitely help ease some of my fears.

Try to not stress too much. My OB had me do betas last week and my numbers were similar. At that level my OB was only looking for them to have a significant rise; they did not need to double. If you look at beta base.info, you will see that at those levels the doubling rate slows drastically. FX for a good scan on Friday!

Hi ladies! I had my ultrasound this morning and got to see one healthy little bean measuring at 6 weeks, with a heartbeat of 118 I have been having some tenderness on my left side which made me nervous. Turns out I have a cyst the size of an orange on my left ovary. The doctor told me to keep an eye out for any sharp pains that might indicate my ovary twisting, and she'll check it every time I have an ultrasound to make sure it isn't growing. At least now I know what the ache is from, and know I'm in good hands!
