I'm a super chicken, I'm so behind on walking dead because I need dh to watch it with me but he thinks its boring. I still don't know what happened to the little girl who went missing.
I wanted to watch american horror story but I know I can't handle it.

Because I'm obsessed with DS's burping (or lack thereof)...
He's hardly burped at all today. He ate about every 2 hours up until about 3ish when he finally took a good long nap. He barely burped after any of those sessions, yet he didn't spit up much either. Ugh, what does this mean? I want to make sure he doesn't get a tummy ache, but I don't want to assume he's filled with gas if he isn't.
What makes it confusing is that he kept getting fussy a little after eating. He would sleep for about 20 minutes or so and then start crying. I wasn't sure if it was gas, boredom, wanted to pacify, etc etc. Luckily I was able to calm him down somewhat each time, but like I said - he didn't take a good nap and seem ok until about 3pm.
Sadly I haven't read much, but I was surprised at how much I loved It. I also loved The Stand. M-o-o-n, that spells "such great writing"!
I'm an addict. I don't love everything he writes, but that's to be expected with such a prolific author. The Stand is amazing. I also really like Salem's Lot and the Tommyknockers. Also totally blown away by the Dark Tower series, but they're ... hard to guess if people will like or not. His nonfiction memoir / craft book On Writing is stellar too.

Oh man, I just read The Dead Zone not too long ago and it was so good. I read it after seeing the movie though, so I kept picturing Christopher Walken. Not that that's such a bad thing, but I prefer building my own picture.
I've heard that The Dark Tower series is good. I think I have Tommyknockers on my shelf.
I also need to read The Shining, but how can I not picture Jack Nicholson?

I could never get through The Stand. I liked it, but invaribly I'd get too busy to read and then forget about and have to start all over again.
I read while nursing MOTN and read aloud to DS. They're not kid-friendly books, but he doesn't know anything and this way he gets exposed to a larger vocabulary.

My husbandman is a huge Steven King fan. He just started The Long Walk. He said The Shining was okay but hard to get into. He wants to read the 63 one next, so I'm glad to hear a lot of y'all liked it. I might slip it into his Easter basket.
My sister lent me Wild to read. I need some down time so I can start it. The movie looks awesome, so I'm hoping the book will be great.

DS is asleep in his bouncy chair where I stuck him while I went to heat a bottle of pumped milk since he was still acting hungry but wouldn't stay latched and we'd hit the 45 minute mark of nursing and him being fussy (LC's recommendation). I couldn't handle him and the bottle heating. I checked on him while the water was heating up and he'd fallen asleep. He's been bouncing himself and I decided not to try to move him until I finished pumping.

Thinking about getting a red nightlight so I can see DS to change him MOTN and check on him without disturbing our sleep. Currently we keep the hallway light on and it's probably way too much light for us to properly be sleeping with. Not that me being on the computer in the MOTN while pumping is all that good for me.
I just got a nightlight this past weekend for that very reason.
My mommy put a nightlight in when she stayed with us. At the time I thought it was un necesary, but mommy knows best . I need another one for baby's room.
Poor lil bub had a fever from his shots. I gave him infant Tylenol which made him feel a bit better. It's been 7 hours since the dose and no fever again, and he actually wanted to eat, so that is a good sign. Hopefully done with that. This was a sad preveiw into when he actually gets sick. I'm so glad we have vaccines to keep away really nasty stuff, the worry even when I know what it is was bad!
Oh man, I remember the first time I read the Shining so, so vividly. I hadn't seen the movie at the time, but since I have, the books is heaps better. I think it's well written enough you won't have a problem getting into it, cougarette.
Also the kindle app on my phone is surprisingly easy to read books on. I love my actual kindle more, but I always have my phone with me. Dead tree books are just cumbersome (and I say that with all the love in my book nerd heart).
Plus one for nightlight. Mine is blue and we got it from Walmart after the first night home from the hospital. I didn't want a light on at night but couldn't see to latch the baby on. Now I need less help for that but it's still great & necessary in general.

Glad your LO is feeling better. I know I'm gonna be a mess the first time mine is feeling bad, even more so when he gets an actual cold or something.

This. Well I read to myself MOTN and read to him during the day but I'm pretty sure that's what you meant
It's times like this I wish I had a Kindle. Then it'd be a lot easier to read and nurse at the same time.
kindle app for the smart phone is free!
I can't read books during these MOTN sessions though. I have problems that when I an reading books I stay up way too late finishing the next page, the next chapter, etc, which is not good for the limited sleep schedule. I legit got in trouble when I was a kid for staying up too late, reading.
I only do rereads during MOTN feedings to (mostly) avoid this problem.
Just got an email from Amazon reminding me that Stephen King has a new book coming out this summer. Unfortunately I didn't like Mr Mercedes, and this book has the same protagonist. I'll add it to my 'get from the library' low priority reading list.
Is it bad that I'm already mentally coming up with my Mothers' Day demands? I'm thinking chocolates, bubble bath, wine, full night of sleep. Yes. Please.
I became irrationally excited when I realized I will get presents on Mother's Day this year.

I'm hoping for uninterupyed sleep. Although we are going to my in laws so LO can meet ny SIL who will be home on break so not sure if that will happen day of unless LO sleeps in their room. They would probably go for that. Their dog not so much.
Aw dang it, I think I have/am getting a plugged boob duct. I slept weirdly on my side last night and I think it messed with how my bra fit against that boob. Now I have a hard lumpy area on the under-boob (it doesn't hurt though) and it stayed hard even after LO ate from that side for a while. Going to go search for that recent thread on this situation.
